I got these "refurbished" (used) from secondipty for this price. They are better now after updating.
I have love hate relationship with them. That said this week I wore them for my root canal after someone recommended. I don't mind the drill sounds and only get Novocain for 1 wisdom and 1 root canal in past. I don't really notice dental pain.
However for dentist nervous people this might put you over the top for an excuse to buy it. The dentist and hygienist kept asking me about it cuz they were surprised I didn't hear s*** what they were saying.
I told him they should get them and give them to people they're doing surgery on.
It blocked the dentist overhead music their talking and lowered the drill sound to pretty low. Much quieter than I expected. It's drilling into my head so I assumed it would do very little.
Compared to my cheap Anker noise cancelling these are noticably better. Worth the $200 splurge? Not sure .
I used with my 60v electric lawnmower...still pretty loud. Used with elec leaf blower and vac better but only to hear music or pod.
The chat feature to detect when I'm talking to disable was good but not much talking when drilling my tooth. You can turn on noise pass though
They were frustrating at times with disconnecting or turning off occasionally. The on ear detection sometimes drives me nuts.

These are not designed for hearing protection, so they aren't good for activities with high decibel levels. You can find hearing protection with Bluetooth or audio jacks for that purpose. You can also try wearing earbuds under muffs.
