Last time I did the deal without the extra gift card and I think the type of ticket you get depends on the redemption location you enter. When I went to redeem it asked for the state the recipient will use it in. For me I did NY and it gave black tickets but other states may be yellow.

If you redeem the tickets through the AMC app they still charge you a service fee. Two tix = over $4 in service fees.
I had the offer that included popcorn and two drinks and all three of those had additional service fees so I didn't use the app for those. I just bought the food at the theater and used the vouchers at the concession stand.

If you're a stubs premier member you don't have to worry about that.
