was 4000 upon first release. weighs 120 lbs. high performance cruiser vs lighter more nimble wheels. (it's not good for tricks but it's good for long riding including on and off road). they may be dumping these before the china tariffs hit

other stuff has minor sales but this is the most notable price discount. I guess the v5 and v8 entry/beginner wheels are pretty good sale too so go ahead and check out their other stuff.

why would they be dumping these BEFORE the tarriff's hit? they can hold it and sell it for more and blame the tarriffs even though the product is already here?

Because they have to pay the tariff too. It's bad for everyone. they have to survive it's not like they can overcharge and people are still lining up to buy their stuff like it's groceries.

maybe you can explain to my monkey brain. i dont understand. the product is already in america, it will not be hit by a tariff. why would you want to clean out your inventory only to get more inventory later which WILL have a tariff?

why wouldn't you just hold off inventory or sell it for more later and blame the tariff, even though you got the product in before the tariff. thats what i'm doing, i'm hoarding inventory and selling it for a higher price later.

just trying to get some money back, before the tariff kills off all demand for the item. obviously it didn't sell that great at 4000, it won't sell at all at 8000 and demand will go way down. they're cashing out some production costs on it and ending this product

Nah, hard pass. If they closing out this thing, it's gonna be a bitch to get warranty service or parts when it breaks down.

The proposed tariffs are 20%, so even 4000 would only go up to 4800, not 8000. But I think you are jumping to conclusions about the tariffs, and this has more to do with poor sales. Instead of it being about tariffs, it's basic supply and demand.

thanks for insight. this is in fact a niche category of a niche product (most people are ok with less speed and range, this one is for the long trip recreational cruiser types out there)

The V14 is more of my size for an EUC, too bad it doesn't have as big of a discount as this.

Do you have to know how to ride a unicycle to ride this? or can anyone who can stand up ride it?

you can learn on any wheel but for the integrity / finish of your wheel, it'd be best to practice on some graded sports field like soccer etc etc

hiking/ski poles can help get started

I don't recommend ski poles, since you can really hurt yourself if you fall in a bad way on one.

I recommend first finding a stretch of walkway that has railings on both sides. Keep going back and forth on that until you can make the entire stretch reliably without touching the railing.

Then practice getting off and on without touching the railing.

Then when you're ready to practice with no railing, go to a sportsball field. Once you've proven yourself, practice turning on the sportsball field.

God-willing you should hopefully be ready to go with no injury at this point.

I recommend poles, because your speed is up to you, and what protective gear you wear is up to you, and cross country skiers and downhill skiers hit modest to high speeds, and recommend them. who am I to argue with hundreds of years of their shared experience? they are balance / modest support tools

I rode a 16 inch wheel for 4 years. I think this is a fantastic deal for a car replacement. But it's probably not a good starter wheel because I'm guessing it's a little harder to maneuver. And it's too heavy to pick up and put in your trunk or carry upstairs at all. Inmotion has one year warranty service and I think they are the only manufacturer with an actual US presence. Replacement parts for some of these can also be purchased through third parties, but if you ever have issues on one you probably need to be comfortable servicing it yourself.
