Personally I just keep a 25" breaker bar and a set of flip sockets from Harbor Freight on my vehicles. Less than $35 and hasn't failed me yet.

I was going to say something similar, wouldn't it be better to just get a breaker bar and a single socket specific for your vehicle. And keep it in a bag or under the floor (if you have the storage space).
Can always add a torque wrench for home. and readjust the lugnuts or bolts when you get home.

The torque range is 50 to 250 ft/lbs
The breaker bar appears to be around 24 inches
12 point socket sizes 7/8" 13/16" 3/4" 17mm 19mm 21mm
You're paying $22.64 extra for the breaker, the 6 sockets, extension, and larger carrying case than just buying the torque wrench by itself.

šŸ‘. I had the HF torque wrench. Lasted. About 7-12 months before it failed. Nothing like being in the middle of working on your car and then *snap* of the internals, and you're out of luck. I do not recommend the torque wrench from them. But for their sockets and bar I do not fear the reaper šŸ˜…

I like the tekton TW from Amazon, that one's not bad, but it's also not perfect as the locking setting always loosens despite the accuracy is still spot on using a torque meter.

Been using my HF torques for around 8 years at this point with no issues. Honestly one of my fav deals I've ever gotten from them.

I was going to say something similar, wouldn't it be better to just get a breaker bar and a single socket specific for your vehicle. And keep it in a bag or under the floor (if you have the storage space).
Can always add a torque wrench for home. and readjust the lugnuts or bolts when you get home.

The link was for a breaker bar, not a torque wrench. They serve different purposes, so hopefully people don't use them interchangeably.

Also if you're buying something like this for your kids, make sure they have a jack too. Twice I've helped teenagers that pull out some type of tool set that their parents got for them (I'm pretty sure they didnt even know how to use them), and they dont even have a jack in the car.

Multiple times I've pulled over because kids look so confused trying to change a tire. Took me all of 5 minutes, maybe. Granted, I carry around a hydraulic jack and impact.

I think the amount of surface contact for 12pt sockets scales up faster than the torque requirements, which is why you're more likely to find a 12pt 3/4in chrome socket set than 6pt (impact use is a different story of course). 1/4in and 3/8in drive is where 6pt will make the biggest difference

Just grab a torque wrench and breaker bar from HF next time they have a sale. Lifetime replacements. Got the torque wrench for $12 on the last sale.. broke it once using it for self defense against some crazed hobos.. HF replaced it no questions asked. Best $12 I've ever spent.
