50-100$ upgrade can't be compared to a 700$ platform change upgrade. If you currently have AM4 consider getting the 5700x3d. Gamers nexus made a good point about this showing how good that cpu compares to AM5 CPUs considering that's one part upgrade at 1/3rd the cost of a platform change upgrade.

5600x is excellent at 1440p, I thought about upgrading to am5 with my rx 6800 but why? I watched allot of benchmarks and for most people this is a decent cpu for sure. Esports may differ with super high fps, I don't play those games.

Still a good price for better CPU, sure, but Ryzen 5600X also comes with heatsink, which means you'll end up paying another $30 or so more for the upgrade from 5600x to 5700x. Or around 50% more than the 5600x, where in most cases the 5700x isn't all that more powerful than the 5600x (~5%?). Different if you already have a HS you're planning to use...

Definitely go for the 5700X. That's my current CPU. It's cheap and powerful and a great value for the price. It should handle every game you throw at it, and last you for several years of gaming, if not well into the next generation of console releases.

Dumb question but will my heatsink from a stock 2300 work with 5700X? I'm not a benchmark nerd so if not, it's just easier to upgrade to the 5600X instead of buying both.

I'm pretty sure the heat sink for 5600x should work on 5700x.

I've thought about upgrading my 3700X to a 5700X...the price is certainly great but I am not looking forwarding to disassembling my PC and cooler setup to make it happen 😆 Plus my 3700X still runs everything including AAA titles like a champ with a RTX 4070. AMD CPUs too good 😅
