For those that have stuck with D2 this long what are your thoughts? I stopped playing when they took away paid content after the Witch dlc. Personally Warframe(Free2Play) is a great 3rd person replacement however it doesn't hold your hand at the start which turns players away.

I stopped after they took our boy Cayde away. I even named my third born after him laugh out loud

But, I too would like to know if its worth going back?

I heard that too! It makes me almost want to go back and redo the entire story again now with it possibly ending with 'the final shape'

I got my money's worth. I play 15-20 mins here and there casually these days as there just isn't much left for me to do.

Game is best played with a group of friends. Going solo will only be fun for so long. The D2 community is terrible. Elitists and all that, after all a lot of players have been playing the same game for like 10 years now.

Warframe is ass cheeks, as is The Descendents or whatever. Most of the f2p stuff is trash IMO. Don't feel nearly as good as D2.

Yes. You will even get access to some important old storyline content. Though most the former expansion stuff is paywalled. I was largely a solo player and enjoyed many hundred hours over the years. Fun quirky universe, some gorgeous world building, and incredible gunplay. I do wish they had offered a dumbed down version of raid content just to experience it. Steep learning curve for new players all around - there are a lot of meta builds with weapons/armor (many of those requiring grinding the shoot-to-loot aspect and many more only accessible through raids) that will far outperform anything you start with as a new player. It's not a p2w tho which is appreciated.

TFS was amazing. Great sendoff before they gutted the development team... so don't expect much from season content going forward. The annual pass aspect of underdeveloped new content makes the deal kinda meh. TFS itself is worth a buy... so are the other expansions at $10/total just ignore lightfall.
