It appears as a one time use, but if you go back into PayPal you will most likely see it available again. You just need to activate it again. I've used it several times in a row for Walmart.

Another couple of data points, bought a drone from DJI using the 5% category called Tech and here's my experience:

1.When using the PayPal balance, I got the rewards points added to my account instantly (not pending).
2.Only received 5,000 points for a purchase all over $1k so there must be a cap.

How did you get this to work? I click cash back from PayPal and then it directs me to Best Buy. When I go to check out it only has a credit card payment option.
Do you have to go to Best Buy directly and then check out?

The PayPal offers are not cash back akin to your favorite cash back websites. These are triggered by the use of PayPal at checkout. So you'd have to associate your BB CC with PayPal, but I really don't think it'll show as Best Buy on the statement. I have never tested it with my BB CC, or any Citi card for that matter, so I can't say for sure.

AMEX cards - PayPal DOES pass-through the merchant
BOA cards - PayPal does NOT pass-through the merchant
Capital One cards - it appears PayPal DOES pass-through the merchant (I see my purchase from Walmart via PayPal on my Venture MasterCard as being properly identified as Walmart/Grocery)
Chase cards - PayPal does NOT pass-through the merchant
Citi cards - I have never tested
Commenity cards - I have never tested
Discover cards - I have no cards to test
TD Bank cards - I have never tested
Wells Fargo cards - I have never tested
This isn't correct. Chase awards purchases through PayPal as both Paypal and the merchant. So you can get Freedom Flex 5% on PayPal this quarter, and I've also stacked it with Chase offers for merchants including GoPuff and Logitech where I paid via PayPal.

Chase definitely treats PayPal transactions as the real merchant, even though it can see PayPal was the "method" used.

It's 2024 so of course the providers know where these purchases are made from. What appears on the printed statement or the online account doesn't count. If you use Paypal on bby.com, everybody involved will know it; it's not anonymous.
It isn't about knowing. Of course it shows more than just PAYPAL on the statement - it'll say PAYPAL WALMART or PAYPAL EBAY, etc. The question is how the purchase is treated on the backend. Is it a PayPal purchase (which is how BOA treats it) or is it a purchase at the merchant like AMEX and Capital One treats it? More importantly, will it trigger as category spend (Best Buy, in the case of the Citi BB card) or will it trigger as everyday spend?

You are correct about Chase, my bad. I looked at my Chase account for my recent BJ's purchase of a gift card. It shows the purchase as shopping, "BJ's Wholesale" and the merchant type is "Wholesale club".

Since Paypal is not a cashback portal so there's nothing to stack. You don't have to click thru the PayPal website to get to the merchant; all you need to do is pay using PayPal preferably using an approved (preferred) method. You are given points which you can covert into rewards for example, cash back.

When you checkout, just look for the words "Paypal" or the Paypal logo somewhere near the bottom. If you don't see, Paypal is unavailable to you.
