The 45mm PW3 battery life is significantly better than the 41mm PW2's was, but we are talking ~48 hours with the PW3 with all features turned on vs roughly 24 on the PW2 or nearly a week on the Venu 2 Plus.
When I got the PW2 last year, which was free with my phone, I planned on selling either it or the Venu but I found that they filled different roles and I ended up keeping and using both.
The Pixel Watches are significantly better at smartwatchy things like notifications, UI, mobile pay, controlling music, assistant, having LTE capabilities, etc. It does fine for fitness tracking. However, the Venu 2+ is still the better fitness tracker with ANT+ capability and the longer battery life.
The PW3 does allow connecting fitness devices via BLE, though I haven't tried to set that up with my bike computer yet. If it works ok for me then I may end up selling the V2+ finally.
If battery life and fitness tracking are your main feature needs, stick with Garmin. If you want a true smartwatch, the PW is a great option but get the 45mm for the extra battery.

P.s - You can go into edit > advanced and update the title with the info in your top line (mention the bill credits). People skimming through will think its free, then be slightly peeved when they see its not, then they'll hit the thumbs down in sweet sweet retribution... even though you are technically correct.

I returned my pixel watch 2, and switched to a forerunner 265s. I'm not sure if my pixel watch had some setting I needed to change, but it would die on long runs (GPS, Music/BT, Data/Messaging, Strava) and that was a no-go. The Garmin has 0 issues right out the box and can go for days. I'm not sure how much the 3 has improved on it, but the battery life will definitely be a noticeable downgrade. Otherwise I was pretty happy with it, very smooth experience, comfortable, and overall a nice watch. If you have a typical day-to-day where a charger is nearby I think you could adjust to it (especially since its basically "free"), if you are often out on longer excursions I imagine itll be more hassle than its worth. Hope that helps.

I have a Pixel Watch 3 45mm LTE. I also have a Venu 2 Plus, which is obviously Wifi/BT only, and previously had a Pixel Watch 2 LTE.
