Until the end of November or until they run out of stock, ROLI Lumi Keys is $99 for students. I had two old student emails and a new student email, and I was able to get three of them. The msrp of the LUMI Keys was $299 and the Piano M is currently $250 without a sale.
The Piano M is also on sale for $200 and it also comes with Equator 2 for free which is a plugin that usually only comes free with the Seaboard Rise 2 which is $1400. I also got a Piano M so I could connect four of them together to have 96 keys in a portable form factor, also for the free plugin.
There was an original Lumi Keys which had bad reviews for poor build quality, but in 2021, ROLI updated the design of the Lumi Keys by removing the magnetic connections on the top and removing the indents on the bottom so the plastic becomes more sturdy and rigid. The Piano M has this updated structure and is a rebranding of the Lumi Keys with the updated design. The current Lumi Keys on sale also has the updated design. I think they are trying to clear out the inventory of the Lumi Keys so they can focus on their new brand of Piano M. There also used to be a Studio Edition of Lumi keys which is the same design but it came with a gift card for their website.
What makes this piano special is that it is the only mini midi keyboard which has:
- light up keys which can highlight scales
- you can push each key side to side to have pitch bend
- you can press hard for pressure sensitivity
- you can quickly lift your fingers for aftertouch effects
- it can also arpeggiate chords
- have one note press trigger an entire chord and move the key left and right to pitch bend an entire chord
- it has a learning app (with a subscription) which teaches you how to play piano while using the lights on the keys to guide you
- can connect 4 of them together to have 96 keys

The Piano M gets the $200 normal sale
I placed my order on November 14th, and it shipped from Yorkville Illinois and arrived in New York on November 19th.
But for the fourth one I ordered a Piano M which shipped from around the same area with my order being made on the 14th, but it arrived on the 21st. So it was a bit inconsistent with the shipping times.
I think because of how low the price is, and because people have had more time to find out about the deal compared to when they first announced it on the 14th, that might be why it's taking so long.
