The Leaders expansion is fantastic! It is easily one of our favorites for this game. By using Leaders, you begin shaping your strategy before you collect a single card. It can really help you hone in on other cards as the game progresses. But the nice part is that you are not locked into needing to take those specific cards because you are never forced into playing any of your Leader cards. It is a great balance!

I have the original 7 Wonders and all the expansions and Duel. It's probably my wife and my favorite game. Is it worth updating everything to 2nd Edition?

I got the original when it came out and had not heard of the 2nd edition until about a month ago. The new one is prettier but I think that the card layout changes were a step in the wrong direction. It's possible that if you learn the game for the first time using the 2nd edition cards it would seem better, but I prefer the first one.

Not to mention that it would also be a very costly move replacing everything. I wouldn't think it is worth it.
