This was $114.99 last November 18 through black friday so this year's $128.99 may be the lowest we'll get.

SanDisk.com has a deal through 11/20 where you can buy two and save 15%. So you can get two SN850x 2TB no heatsink for 220.98 (before taxes) or two SN850x 2TB w/ heatsink for 229.48 (before taxes). Looks like they take PayPal, so if you have a Chase Freedom card you can get 5% back as well. Here's a link to the 2TB without heatsink: https://shop.sandisk.com/products...X0E-00BCA0

No children, this is not a good price! Bought these all day long just 12 months ago at $55 per TB! All gen 4 drives belong at $50 per TB now maximum, not a penny more!
I bought a $5 foot long from subway for $5 like 10 years ago. Anyone paying more than that today is a sucker!

Me too!
Now since our total economy is based on the buying habits of a child's mindset with a 10 second attention span at best, resellers keep playing this revolving game of darts to find out what price will stick next. They already know the child has long since forgotten the previous price, so they get to make it up new each and every throw of the dart! Yay, economy....🙄

I won't purchase any WD SSD. Since 2010, I owned about 10 Intels, 30 Samsungs. None of them died before I sold them or just don't use them. But, since 2019, I got 4 WD SSDs, one 1tb 3D Blue purchased back in 2020 died last month, one SN850x 4tb purchased on August 25 suddenly died. They are used just for low work load, reading focusing data storage.

Anytime I see anything labeled "gaming", it means over priced and charged at a premium because we'll pay it!
In most cases yes...but the SN850x really is one of the better drives on the market in terms of performance. Being marketed towards gamers is a bit of a gimmick (at least until direct storage becomes a thing), but it does make difference if you work with large files a lot...for example, video editing.

Currently with special group incentives (in my case Government), the 990 PRO PCIe® 4.0 NVMe® SSD 2TB (SKU#MZ-V9P2T0B/AM) is $143.99 at Samsung's website. Discounts include $90 promo savings and $16 Group Saving.
I see that with my university discount, you think it's the best we can see in the next few weeks, have my small form factor arriving by Nov. 1st from aliexpress (will be used primarily for plex and a few containers of custom automation etc and a mysql db install). Home use medium level use, you think the price is good I guess if its at $143.99?

Bought an 1TB version earlier last year and man it is fast! The price was $76 plus tax for 1TB, so $129 2TB seems pretty reasonable to me.

Crucial P5 Plus 2TB Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD Internal Gaming SSD with Heatsink

Potentially better deal at $109 if heatsink needed.
That is $154.73. What am I missing here?
