Only works on Samsung phones...and only if other Samsung phones enabled and allowed finding in the Samsung Find app in its settings, which is disabled by default. How do I know? I use a Samsung S24 Ultra. IMHO, it works but doesn't work as well as Apple Find My app...where location tracking is enabled by default and can't be disabled. Your chances of finding Apple Airtag locations and its accuracy are much better compared to this...especially in the US where Apple has almost 60% cell phone marketshare. So I bought a cheap iPhone 12 from Metro for $35, then a few generic Apple airtags from AliExpress for $3 each just for tracking.

Agreed and, although Android recently deployed a service/feature similar to Apple's - which utilizes the constellation of Android devices to anonymously report the location of nearby smart tags to Google's servers - my understanding is that these Samsung tags are not compatible with and/or do not participate in Google's Find My Device network.

Any good uses for 4 of them? I was thinking one for my backpack. One spare for a suitcase when I travel.

One for the car? My car has location tracking and remote services.

But this seems like a solid deal at 30% off....

Good to know. I suspect that Samsung will support it at some point, but for now, I found an article from a few months ago that lists the supported devices for Google Find My Device. I'll have to try the Google version next time I travel with luggage.

Hard to call this a hot deal. They've been this price or less on and off (more on than off) the last month+. Hoping the price dips further for BF/CM.

Tbh I got these when they came out and they work but not great. The battery life is pretty weak but it is nice that you can have these ring your phone or even start a home automation sequence.

Just blue tooth. So basically stuff for inside the house. Not paying this amount vs generic ones.

CHZHVAN Key Finder, Wallet Tracker Works with Apple Find My (iOS only), Replaceable Battery, Water-Resistant, Bluetooth Item Finder for Bags, Luggage, Pets & Backpack, 4 Pack Black https://a.co/d/cKT0jqV

Why would I spend 60 some bucks? These 4 generic ones do same stuff. Throughts?

Assuming they are good, would they work as well as the SmartTag2 with Samsung phones?

I have a few, there's an issue with all of them randomly beeping. Take a look online it's a common issue, my sense is Samsung is coming out with a new generation that won't have the problem with the beeping because of bad battery contacts at their s25 launch in Jan/Feb.

I am hoping this model proves to be a better option for me in the future. I invested in Tile devices and the batteries REFUSE to allow me to change them. I replace them and the devices still claim to have dead batteries. Come to find out Tile just "anticipates" your battery dying. I don't want to invest more in that system.

I normally dislike all things Apple but their AirTag setup is *mostly* what I want. The problem is, it's iOS only and I don't own a single iOS device. Heck, the last Apple thing I bought was an iPod.

I honestly don't know what other posters here are smoking.

I have a couple of these to track my luggage when traveling.

They work with both BlueTooth and UWB. They use the SmartThings App.

Samsung is the largest manufacturer of Android phones in the world, with about 20% of the world market. I've had no problems with tracking.

Unless you have a lot of stuff to keep track of, buying another phone just for tracking is pretty ridiculous.

I've tried Apple Air tags internationally and it isn't that great. It would still think my luggage is another country. Eventually it'll get it correctly but the tracking of Apple tags is pretty bad outside the US.

Yes this is basically standard price lately. Was 51 at woot recently iirc. Honestly if you don't need 3+ just buy an individual one for 21

Yes it's opt in, though it still updates more than googles opt in network

Has location history and Uwb, Google fmd supports neither ATM.

Yes. Air tags are better if you're in that ecosystem

I use both a galaxy tag and Google fmd pebblebee in luggage just to account for the spotty coverage. I might buy an air tag eventually because I have an old iPhone laying around. No need to just pick one ecosystem.
