Knockoff legos are garbage, my son got a few sets that are knockoffs and the pieces just don't fit together as well.

Just wanted to point this out because I remember reading in thread last time it was posted. Someone noted it does not fit regular lego train track. I assume if you are considering 400 purchase you know this but just wanted to note.

I cannot find and haven't been able to find this train for several months and was hoping for it to come back in stock. Link above says sold out from Ali. Technic motors or other "special" piece are usually unavailable. You also may have a hard time using Lego number specifically. Try general key words, "building blocks" "icons blocks" etc.

Looks like I might have to bite the Lego bullet on this set though as my partner has been wanting it since last Christmas.
I apologize for not noticing the set is not available at this time. If you can wait, it will be back in stock with this seller or another, but if you need it for Christmas, you'll have to shell out the big bucks unfortunately.

AliExpress is a lot like eBay. You can get near indistinguishable fake Lego (minus the logo on the dot) or you can get scammed. There are Sellers who will get it to you in days or there are ones that will take weeks/months.

Keep an eye on the number of reviews. A brand new store is less likely to be reputable than one that has lots of reviews.

But these knockoff sets have various levels of legality in China, so stores do disappear fairly frequently.

A lot of the stores have moved to just having set numbers with no picture of it as that seems to not violate the trademark rules.

There are also stores like yourwobb and bluebrixx. Higher price than AliExpress but more reputable/consistent

I've bought numerous sets that were amazing. I have a few that are ehhh.

Only 1 came in a box and it was not giftable condition.

I also got a 3,000 piece set that had three bags. But I saved like 250 bucks.

Knockoffs are not as good but other brick manufactures are giving them a run for Legos money.
