I see $569 [westerndigital.com] for the old 24TB Gold drives.

The OP's 22TB Red Pro is currently best Enterprise SATA drive deal I've seen but I'd wait till BF deals/weekend unless you need them now. The deal is good from November 18, 2024 and December 8, 2024.

I'm literally shaking thinking how long it would take to pre-clear these drives for Unraid.

Forgot to specify the gold HDD deal I got was the clearance 2x14TB for $450. Right now all purchases have extended return until January so if there's a better black Friday deal I'll just return.

14T is a little small given my NAS has limited slots

Meanwhile - I'm looking for 16T or smaller since my parity drive is 16TB. I have a few 2, 3, and 4T I'd love to boot out

OMG, I just bought a 20TB EasyStore from Best Buy for $320 yesterday which is $16/TB. I'll return it and get this. It comes out to $15.91/TB, so it's the same deal but these have a 5 year warranty where as the EasyStores have a 2 year. Anything $15/TB and under is a good deal. Last year we had 18TB for $200 so that was $11.11/TB which was a really great deal. Hoping the 22TBs become the new sweet spots. I wonder if Black Friday will have any better deals than this.

You can still install a 22TB drive and have it replace the 16TB parity drive. although it would be wasteful unless you plan to upgrade the other drives too

Same. What kind of price do you think we'll be looking at for one on BF
