Plantains are less sweet and can be more starchy. Every fried plantain I've had reminded me more of sweet potato than it did banana.

They're like InNOut fries with a little banana flavor. Lol.

In only very few parts of the US (if they're even still available) I really like El Isleño chips from Lays. Tried to source them here but have only seen in Florida and distribution said no can do.

These look to have no salt added. The ones I get from the bodega always are salted. So, not sure if these will work for me in place of potato chips.
