Bioware is desperate for money. They had a huge sale for n7 day and will probably have more in the future. Hopefully the interest in the Mass Effect IP will save them from EA's wrath. If ME5 doesn't do well though...

They've made their bed.

I played Legendary Edition after having not played the games for 20 years. It felt sort of like playing for the first time, especially ME3, which I only played once back in the day.

You do realize that Bioware is just a studio, they don't make money from this, they don't get to make pricing decisions or run sales, that is all decided by EA their parent company. Studio employee's often have a salary and sometimes make extra for review scores or awards, they are not paid based on number of sales when they're part of a large company like this.
The studio needs a reason for EA to keep them around. Even if it's EA doing the sale it's so they can show less of an impact on how much money they lost this year and how strong the ME IP is to investors boosting the sales numbers of the ME series as much as possible before the end of the year, as the DA franchise is finished and dead now. If investors don't see value in Bioware it won't exist anymore.

Best trilogy of all time. Looking forward to the true upcoming Mass Effect spiritual sequel, Exodus, by former devs. ME5 is cooked, don't bother with the cope and keep an eye on that instead.

Very casual gamer these days and don't have a whole lot of patience for games which require heavy grinding or super deep stories. Should I give this a shot? If so, should I just get the Legendary Edition? Thanks!

Mods, my friend, make grinding go away and bring fun into play.

I started the mass effect story at the start of 2024 after having only played, mainly, ME3 Coop over the course of a decade. I still go back and play it from time to time. Probably my favorite coop experience.
The story for Mass effect is incredible. I'm not generally a role-playing, story based gamer, with the exception of the Elder Scrolls, but this game hooked me. I've only finished 1&2 and started the 3rd. I only have a few hours in with little free time lately to really enjoy it. The theory and lore behind the game is what really drew me in initially. It certainly has not disappointed. I completely understand the sentiment of wishing to experience it for the first time again. An incredible piece of art in my opinion.

For this price? Absolutely. The Mass Effect trilogy is one of the most casual gamer friendly imo. Don't worry about lore and all that at the beginning, just play main quests, side quests, etc. Yes you should get the Legendary edition, the graphical improvements to the first game especially are welcome. You get the whole trilogy plus all of the DLC.
