I think it is OK. They throw in a new thing called Cloud Credit. But may not be very useful from what I can see.

I think it's interesting how people bitch about Adobe when this is the same type of setup payment wise and Adobe is cheaper per year for PS and LR.

What's one year? This isn't subscription software. You get 12 months of updates to the software. It will keep working after that. The company isn't offering free upgrades for life. There's only a small subset of companies that do that.

This is how Adobe used to be before moving primarily to a subscription service model.

Adobe does software rental. When the "subscription" runs out, you are not entitled to continue to use the software.

Topaz AI's model is perpetual license with free upgrades for one year, but you are entitled to keep using the software, unlike Adobe.

This hybrid model is a good compromise between the user and developer. I switched from Adobe to Serif Affinity when Adobe switched to exclusively software rental.

Though I've read a number of comments in a number of forums, I'm still confused for the photograph enhancement software selections. I've been using the video AI version 4 and can't see any information that would lead me to believe that version 5 would be better than my four.

Can it be used on multiple systems, laptop, Mac and Mobile with one license purchase?

Yes. Here is the answer on their website:

How Many Computers Can I Install My Apps On?
You can install your Topaz Labs apps on as many computers as you'd like, but you can only log in on the same number of computers as the number of seats you own.

All of our apps come with two seats by default and seats are simply the number of unique computers you can use at the same time.

I'm interested in trying out Video AI, but really don't need/use the photo stuff. Wish they'd just knock $50 the Video AI product.

for 1 year with free updates/upgrades. after 1 year, the program still work fine.
i should know. i bought Photo AI 2 plus years ago. paid $100 at that time and havent paid anything since. the program still works fine. $100 to use forever is an incredible value for what this program can do!
edit...looks like it is $200 this BF and i think that's still a good deal just for the photo AI package.

Anyone have experience with their photo Ai? I'm not sure if it's worth spending the extra $100 for that. I tend to shoot in 4k then compress with Handbrake, I don't really do much other editing or want huge files.
