November is generally the most beautiful time to go if you like nature, outdoors and general scenery but it's also among the most crowded. Late-December to early January has tons of fun things going on for New Year's, but it's cold and can be very crowded due to the extended days off end of Dec. Mid-February to mid-March has plum blossoms and is much less crowded than cherry blossom season, but is can be cold.
Late-march to mid-April is cherry blossom season, but everything is crowded but also good weather, maybe some rain here and there. Late-April to early-May has beautiful weather and a lot of flowers are in full bloom, but it's Golden Week so there are tons of domestic tourists. July and August are miserably hot and humid, but there are tons of festivals and high-altitude mountain routes are open. October has beautiful weather and is not usually too crowded, but it's too early for the fall foliage in much of the country.
Basically just avoid June if you can (rainy season), but even that isn't bad.

there's also an amex offer for $100 off (maybe $500? so add luggage, food, etc..) so add that to this deal and you have maybe cheapest tix ever!

Picked a few random dates from LAX -> NAR and opted for the "Value" package which includes the ability to choose a seat, a meal, and a checked bag (for both flights) and it came out to about $588 incl. taxes. Knock off the $100 credit from the AMEX offer and you're back to $488. Pretty solid deal.

Add offers till you see it. They only display up to 100 so if theres under 100 offers left and you don't see it, you don't.

Ooh, this is tempting, I've got some peeps in Japan that I've been putting off visiting for a while. Not sure how the weather is in March, but I'll need to circle back on this after doing some research

Just back from a Tokyo trip on ZipAir. I was expecting Frontier/Spirit like service but boy was I surprised. They even have a baby carseat readily installed in your seat when you board (0-2 ages). Children 0-6 also get discounted tickets (20% of fare only). Staff were very courteous and free internet worked. But, like all indoor things in Japan they keep the flight hot. Would take them again without hesitation

I booked mine for Dodgers vs Cubs game. Returning on March 24th. Used the AMEX so was still not bad $556. I've been monitoring this flight and was around $976

Zipair is a great deal if you can tolerate all the restrictions and add-on fees and you live near one of the (few) overseas cities that the serve. Their website does say what are all the fees, but you have to dig around a lot to find them.
