The SSD in this is also faster than the M2. Might not notice it in day to day tasks, but still. For $100 more than the earlier M2 deal, I think the upgrades here and an extra year of software support is worth it (definitely more so than paying $200 for an extra 256gb of onboard storage).

Amazon wouldn't adjust from $899 I purchase last week. Told me to return and rebuy. No restocking fee, even if open though. Dumb. Whatever.
Is yours 8-core GPU or 10-core GPU? It seems like the description is misleading. It says 10-core GPU under the description and 8-core GPU under the product information.

I price matched with Best Buy this morning, purchased it and went and picked it up. Just got an email saying they can't honor the price match anymore after I've already purchased it and picked it up. Pretty pissed off.
This exact thing happened to me…beyond pissed.

Another lame excuse Best Buy will say Amazon had a special event for this pricing. You can still request another price match via the Best Buy website if you originally submitted the order that way.

With the $749 for M2 and now $849 for M3 pricing, I wish I could find a $549 brand new M1…Walmart seems to the only M1 new sellers but they're at $649.

If you've already bought it at the price matched price and picked it up, how can they say they won't honor it anymore? They charged you a separate invoice?

I have a M1 8/256 which I purchased in late 2021. It is in very good condition, great battery life and still seems very fast and smooth. I see them selling used for more than $400.

I am debating upgrading. My questions are

1) Is it worth upgrading at all?
2) If so, M2 in this configuration for $749 or M3 for $100 more?

Just wondering if the M1/8 to M2/16 is enough of an upgrade (assuming I can sell mine for $400+) or if the $100 extra for the M3/16 is a better choice coming from the M1/8.

Thank you in advance!

I pulled the trigger on this. Used the $15/15.01+ Discover discount. I also have the $10/75 Discover discount but couldn't figure out how to remove the $15 one. I would've like to save the $15 off for a smaller purchase, oh well. I rarely spend $75 on Shipped & Sold by Amazon stuff. Used up my GC balance and paid the rest on Discover which has 5% cashback this Q.

I spoke to another rep and told him what happened. He was very sympathetic and reissued the price match, so kudos to Best Buy for making it right. Also, the deal no longer shows as a limited time deal but a Black Friday deal on Amazon, so I would try again.

Definitely not worth upgrading to M2 and M3 is debatable. But if you have fear of missing out on a good sale, definitely get the M3.

BB currently offers $350 if you trade in your M1.

Good luck with that. I had a similar issue with an iPad price match, next rep said they'll make it right but that request was denied too AFTER they told me it would for sure go through. No accountability or reason it seems, but hopefully yours works out.
