So no discount on renewals/extensions for existing subscribers, just "upgrades". Eff that.
Lol oh it's worse for me -- my renewal hits tomorrow. So even if it was valid, just that 1 day lapse and I'm totally effed for soooo many free games I've had collecting for a decade now. Ahem, sorry, "free".

Hmm, my premium
Membership expires on the 25 of November. I wonder if I can take advantage of this in any way
I dont have the time or desire to dig into this, but I'm pretty sure that when you renew, it kills the current sub and immediately starts the new one, because I feel like my renewal has been slowly backing up more and more and used to be Nov mid-20s, now it's tomorrow.

Can I just create a new account to take advantage of the 30% off for new subscribers?
You can. Make the new one your primary account. You will be able to access online your normal account without having ps+. Only thing is you wont have access to any game you acquired in the past via ps + (free games)

PS4 can no longer run Facebook as of Dec 3. Weird.

Maybe we get a deal.for the older customers?

I still have my PS5 but haven't renewed PS Plus since the price hikes, playing only single player games. I'm looking to switch PC 4k/60 and free online gaming, hopefully by BF with a new card. 🤞

I have been PS Plus-free for over 2 years now. I have taken a couple of online titles I play to PC (free and supports cross-platform so there is never a shortage of players), and resorted to PS5 for its excellent single-player experience.

Too pricey at least for my use case. I play 3-4 games yearly (Single player store). Getting games during sales makes more sense than their overpriced subscription where you are timebound.

Damn. $160 is expensive. Haven't had PS+ in years. Had no idea it was this much. I just do the $4/month VPN trick for GamePass and stack out 3 years. Guess I'll just keep buying SP games when they come on sale. Completely agree that nothing for loyal customers is an obtuse way to run a business...also talking to you, cell carriers, cable companies, etc.!

I let mine expire and haven't missed it yet. If it comes around for $26 like the old days I'll buy back in. For a (now-priced) $80 Essentials year, I can buy at least four used games I actually want instead of hoping for something decent to come up as a "free" monthly game, and at least two will still be on my queue pile at the end of the year.
We can only hope physical games continue being released, so this is a reality. Otherwise, it's a dark future.

I let my subscription expire in July after the 40% price hike and haven't regretted it. Sony and MS are making PC gaming affordable in comparison. Their monopoly on console gaming has gone to their head. PC gaming is far more affordable in the long term.

I haven't renewed my subscription for the same reason and I don't regret it. Sony are trying to milk their loyal customers and I'm not gonna take part of it.

I think PS Portal got an update today that allows ps plus cloud gaming with ps subscription.
Yeah, that's an option but not sure how many people that would entice. Not sure if there's a BF deal on the Portal...but if you could get a cheap Portal and then discounted Premium Plus...that's a "cheap" way to get access to the PS5 streamable catalog.

Maybe there's a chance they'll update the PC app to include streaming PS5 games....they probably won't though.

Initial reports on PS5 Portal cloud streaming seem pretty positive (minus for people sensitive to input lag) and that the bitrate/codec might be better now (possibly for cloud streaming on the console as well).

Playstation deletes cloud saves after a certain period fyi. Cant backup ps5 saves to usb either. Sony is so anti consumer but people keep buying their halfass, overpriced stuff.

I cancelled mine a few years ago and right after my wife was so proud when she bought me Fallout 76 because I love the Fallout games LOL I never had the heart to tell her I couldn't even play it yet due to the ridiculous cost on the online service Frown
