Pls don't fall for the offer…Have used lyca. The trick the company uses is … yes no contract but to get out of the contract the sheer volume of calls you have to make to get account port put pin is unimaginable… one attempt frpm you they say your details dont match …one attempt from you they call the call disconnects … one attempt from you you are in queue and you never get a hold of representative and this attempt goes on and you continue with the service provide out of exhaustion

Your service will not begin until your SIM is activated. If you purchased a physical SIM, it will be shipped to you and your SIM will be automatically activated 2 days after purchase. If you purchased an eSIM, it will automatically be activated upon completion of your purchase.
and also this

If you purchased a physical SIM, it will be shipped to you and your SIM will be automatically activated 2 days after purchase

Is this true for all carriers or specifically LycaMobile? i have ordered TracFone and Tello physical sims but not yet activated. i plan on activating it in Feb 2025.

What happens if you do not activate upon receiving the physical Sim? Does the countdown begin on monthly plan and you will have only few days before the next month payment is due?

Limited time offer subject to availability. Offer available on new lines of service purchased at Lycamobile.com only. ENROLLMENT IN AUTO-RENEWAL REQUIRED to obtain discounted offer price. Discounted price available for initial 30-day plan and further 2 renewals, contingent on continued enrolment in auto-renewal (if auto-renewal is disabled or fails, discounted offer price will no longer apply for subsequent plan purchases).

By the way Boost mobile also did this auto activation nonsense the last time they had a slickdeal on a SIM + 1 year of service with unlimited data + calls + texts. Hate to see this becoming the new norm with these deals.[/QUOTE]

It's $10.50. Not a deal breaker, but still annoying.
Who keeps this longer than three months? Is it easy to port out?
Not easy to port-out

I didn't get your issue here .. you'll anyways use for 3 months for that lucrative price and you'll disable auto renew in 3rd month... I didn't get you... Please clarify
Got to be careful with that slickdeals mentality. Even if something is a good deal, if it's not making you money, it's not lucrative...

Thanks for the info... was waiting for a MINT mobile black Friday deal but don't think its going to be anything special. I'm out of data with my current carrier so I need to find a cheap prepay to switch to ASAP. .
Target has Mint's 3-month 20GB plan for $30, unlimited - limited hotspot for $45.

I don't understand either, unless someone only needs a phone for 3 months. I pay $15 per month on T-Mobile Connect. Wouldn't switch unless it was the same or less for the long haul, and offered additional features I would use, and good data priority.
Does the plan include unlimited everything?

Have a Lyca sim that I'm trying to port to mint and it's been close to three weeks and these guys are not letting me port . You call them they say send a mail and when you send a mail they don't reply . Have registered a complaint hoping to get out of their network soon.

I am not sure i understand the deal:
Why would you want this just for 1-3months? (yes, $10/month is a deal)
- But, it seems like a big hassle, to change to and then again to another cellular service, after 3rd month
I certainly cannot see paying Std rate of $49/month after 3rd month
I think it's not that big of a hassle to swap services if you use a VOIP number. It takes a couple of minutes to swap out a SIM card.

This company is notorious for scam calls. Just Google it and you'll see it's been in the news. Stick to the main operators regardless of the "offers" from Lyca.
