I think the Stand part is really just it's form factor that gives it some value add vs other docs. I can't remember the last time I needed a monitor stand like this, though. I guess it could be nice if you are going to tuck your laptop underneath it.
As for gaining height, most monitors have decent adjustable stands. If you have $100 to throw at this, then why buy such a cheap monitor with a subpar stand? I guess if my work gave me a shitty monitor with a static stand that didn't have VESA, then I'd want a stand like this for it.
Where it lacks, though, at this price is that it only has one display out. I'd prefer to see it with at least 2 display outs. I'd also like to see a usb port that does 10Gbps instead of 5Gbps.
And why is the PD input on the side rather than the bottom like other inputs? It will create more visual clutter there than if it was appropriately placed. Why the left side and not the right side, which would be more likely preferred in practice? The power input location, right there tells me that this product could have been better thought out.
At $100, I do not recommend.

It does look slick but there is no way in hell I would consider paying $100 for this let alone $150
