Google is such a joke. I swear they have adhd and can't stick with anything.

I'm saying this out of frustration because they just keep making me like something and then they take it away. Reminds me of Trader Joes. Lol

It's a solid tablet even at this price, but I agree it'll be much cheaper on clearance in the not to distant future.

The 10th gen iPad is the same price at Best Buy or $250 at Costco. If you want the Charging Speaker Dock, it's still $129. (Edit/correction: Amazon previously had the 256 GB model without the Speaker Dock at $350, not the version with the dock, as I'd previously thought.) All that said, as others have noted, the rumor is that Pixel Tablet is soon to be joining the heap of abandoned Google products, and if/when that happens these will likely be clearanced.

Edited to remove unnecessary opining and for clarity.

Rumor has it that gen2 is too far into development to be cancelled, but that will be the last of tablets, to be released next year.

Tablets will not be abandoned - its actually that chromebooks will be going full in on android. Since the tablets run android, you are good. Likely what will happen is more and more 'detachable keyboard' chromebooks that run android, so you will get more features on these older tablets as the newer versions of android give you usb-c out and desktop capabilities.

Still a bit of a rumor, but it would be wise for them to drop ChromeOS in favor of Android to simplify the platforms they support.

Yes. Android can run chrome (which is basically 90% of chromeos) and android can run linux (the remaining 10%)

Agreed. This is why I am so close to spending over $1000 to get out of the Google ecosystem and going to Apple.

Ironically, the one Apple product I just don't want is the Gatekeeper to the whole thing - the iPhone.
