We just bought 2 of the rechargeable versions of this on clearance at Lowes. I don't like rechargeables because in an emergency (i.e. long power outage from hurricane) you can't just swap the battery and keep going, but they were cheap. I was going to get this, but too many reviews say it gets dangerously hot. What I really need are more flashlights that don't overheat. I have 3 2xAA lights and one 3xAAA headlamp in the electronics recycling bin because they would quickly get too hot to touch near the LED, and the headlamp was definitely making the batteries overheat, risking a fire/explosion. I have several others that get warm to almost hot, but these were burn-your-hand if used more than 15 seconds. So that'll be a test for anything new I buy.

Excellent price! Similar to the Energizer deal on the 1800 lumen version (from 2022.. about $15 with 9 AAA batteries), but quite a bit cheaper and 6 AAA batteries.

What is the warranty on this flashlight? Lifetime?

The HardCase Pro ones have a lifetime warranty and I believe other models are as well, and Energizer with some prodding and back and forth over email, will honor it as long as your pictures don't show it destroyed. Just went through this a couple of years ago with one of their flashlights where the bottom cap wasn't maintaining good contact anymore and there was no way to adjust or fix due to the design of the way it screwed on.

If it's a model they still sell, they will send you replacements. If they don't sell it, or the warranty repair is for batteries, they send you a coupon for the value of your proof of purchase

Got one before (diff list on Amazon,but my sense is this is a newer and better version). It was awesome. Heavy (I take it as real batteries inside) and bright.

Note: The SL website has a lot shit going on. My browser is frozen constantly.
