This is a 20-core model and the price for the same item is $2199 on Apple education store. If you are attempting to trade-in your old apple laptop, at least for my model, bestbuy offers a way better value for my trade-in item

It's crazy that Apple doesn't offer any 16-inch M4 Pro configs with 1TB unless it's a "custom" build. Best Buy, MicroCenter, Costco, etc all get the standard SKUs of the 16" M4 Pro with 512GB only. All part of the ladder to get you to spend more than you need by going Max.

Did you actually look at what you posted? 7.5lbs, 300 nit 1080 screen, Ryzen 5, 512/8gb. Seriously? How old is that thing? A base 16gb MacBook Air would probably run circles around it.

M4 pro, 24gb ram, 1Tb for $2099 is NOT a deal. You can buy this configuration on Apple education store for $2029. Apple doesn't verify anything.
Not the same processor.

Yeah storage is cheap. It's nice to have, but when you're using as a work machine all of your assets are usually on a shared network drive anyway.

And if you really really a shitton of storage, you can stick a NVME SSD in a TB4 enclosure and have a 2TB SSD that's the size of a deck of cards for under $250.

I have one of these for one of my Docker images and I get 3150 MB/s which is plenty fast

Why are MacBooks being put on sale so quickly after release? Isn't this unusual? What are we missing?

$1400 only gets you 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD?
That's crazy. Those specs can be had for $400
Please post a link for a $400 laptop the size of a 14" mpb that has equal battery life and anything even closely similar in performance.

I just bought the 14 inch m4pro because it looked like bb wouldn't be putting them on sale. Now days later the 1tb is on sale. Think they'll let me exchange it to step up? It's a hundred dollar difference. I got the 512 version. I figured I would be using external solutions to deal with the kind of small space.

Do you have to mail it in to that rip-off organization that both Costco and Apple use or does BB have their own in-house solution? Can I simply bring my old laptop to a physical location?
