I had a 34" flat monitor I couldn't imagine a 40" one. That is too large for no curve.

I bought the refurbished model of this off woot for <$200 recently. It is wider than. 34" but you also get more height. I e been using it to play RPG's without issue.

I had this monitor and had to return it. Too big for being flat and had this grainy look to it. Didn't like it personally.

Bought this last year for almost $80 more. Personally love the screen real estate. Probably may have pixel visibility, but I don't notice it much. Currently use it for work and gaming.

It's an awesome monitor, but your viewing distance has to be at least 4-5" to be perfect. I get big headaches if it's too close.

bought it from that woot refurb deal,it was 270$ not under 200$.

It flickers sometimes, especially when you use it as USBC dock. My work laptop works fine with all other USBC docks but with this monitors built in USBC dock it sometimes would go dark for a few sec. and when you plug the laptop in, sometimes the monitor wouldnt wake up

Even when I connect the monitor to a docking station via DP, and plug in my laptop to the dock, the monitor sometimes does not sense the video signal being sent through DP

Same. $270. Have light bloom around the entire screen and flickering led lights. I chatted woot, they said return or partial refund of $75. I took the partial refund. The bloom goes away after 15-20 minutes. Tempted to get another to stack vertically Smilie

I absolutely love mine. It is the exact same width as my old 43" 16:9 4kLG TV I had been using. It is a little easier on my 2080, and is much more immersive in shooters and RPGs. No worries about pixel density here, as the IPS panel is RGB native. Very fast panel as well, and much easier on the eyes. Curved monitors, especially VA, can be pretty bad for surfing/productivity. Unless your desk situation puts your eyes with 2 feet of this thing, you'll be fine.

I have had this for about a year. I am very pleased with it. I use it mainly for work, assignments, and web browsing, and I love it. I do occasionally play Helldivers and Dota with it, and it performs very well. Overall, for the price, I would rate it 10/10.

I was able to get Best Buy to match Microcenter price even though I don't have one in my state.

I have 2 40" flat 3440x1440p monitors side by side, I have a very large desk and view from 3'-4' on average. While I love the screen real estate, this is not for a a 24-30inch desk. You'll be turning your head so much. I upgraded (updated) from 2 34" monitors, I love this more that 34" for sure.
Use case:
Work - I work from home and one 40" monitor is awesome for two window excel work.
Gamining - FPS is fine, RTS I would say no, too big.
Video - Awesome - ultrawides are awesome for movies and bigger screen the better.
