I've reliably gotten it $32 every year for like 5 years in a row from Newegg. We'll see if it hits that this year or not. Usually it coincides with a nice cashback bonus offer from one of the major sites too.

It has issues, but it is the only software that can do everything I need it to, and it does it fairly well. I'd say it has gotten more polished and stable over the past few years, not less. Leaves a lot to be desired, but nothing else comes close if you don't have simple, basic finances. I've got 20 years worth of data in it and being able to pull reports on prior years and track all investments in one place is of value to me.
I have found the opposite to be true since they got out out from under Intuit. Bugs are becoming a rarity and updates that fix things really do

I do not know what you mean by "perform as expected" but Quicken has had me able to have a complete record of near forty years of financial data readily available. It managed my business and personal income, bank accounts along with loans and mortgages. It manages all my brokerage accounts along with IRAs 401Ks etc. and does all that down to the transaction level. End of year I have reports for tax and income both personal and business ready to go at tax time

It is almost a miracle if you think about it and a few bugs that may have freaked me out in hindsight are almost for sure expected considering what it does.

I would not risk it. Officially codes are good 2 years from when they're generated. Who knows when that actually is, and if there is any sort of issue, it is going to be a hassle after 8-9 months.
Why would you say that when it will cost another SD member money? There is no risk, you can add a code when you are within six months of renewal. Your advice is the risk.

If you buy now, will it still be good to update in June or July of 2025, which would be 6 months before my renewal
If you are within the six month window you are fine

As they clearly said, they are not. In 9 months they will be 6 months away from renewal.

That is the definition of risk.

I wonder if this will be the new low price...
It came down to $42 yesterday and now $37 today. It has been $32 many times in the past, but it is anyone's guess. I think it comes down in December typically (looking at SD history shows last year it dropped to $35.xx then $32 and has been $32 many times since). But again, no way to know.

I grabbed the two 50% off $10 gift cards they did recently knowing I always get my Quicken renewal from them, so that helps too.

"Lowest available price" keeps INCREASING every year....as do the software bugs and performance issues. Consumer beware...this product does not perform as expected.

Again you speculate. Why would you think the key codes are over two years old? It does seem to happen on rare occasions but if you see this thread in that off chance Quicken will honor an expired code if you have proof of purchase from an authorized retailer.
Just have a receipt from a an authorized retailer and in every case I see they seem to honor it.

While it took some time and digging, I was able to confirm the following; If an activation code is expired at the time of purchase or fails to be accepted when entered into the program prior to the expected expiration date, our customers can contact Quicken Support and we will provide a replacement after proper proof of purchase has been collected.

This policy does not apply to expired/invalid codes that were purchased over 24 months ago.

Your thoughts are mine on that and I think I am paying just about the same or maybe less than pre subscription times. The subscription is almost really not a subscription. Pre subscription days they would kind of force an update anyway as downloading transactions would stop letting you download and if I recall the software that expired every two years was running about $60. As you a say there are some quirks, bugs and headaches at times but inthe end it gets the job done and what it does is well worth $32 a year. Accountants start at about $400 a month for similar services

Very much agree. I have had the same experience for decades since Manage Your Money departed.

Newegg deserves some credit for attempting to be the lowest cost seller every Black Friday.
$31 in 2022 and $31 in 2023. When you account for inflation Newegg's sale price for Quicken gets better every year!

I never knew of Manage Your Money and was a refugee from Microsoft Money when it went kaput. Switching to Quicken at that point was not all that pleasant and MS Money was the much smoother piece of software but their really were no other option. I did manage and the software did improve with time and I could get it reasonably cheap when catching a cut rate previous years version. Intuit really did not do a good job with updates and there were some frustrating bugs at a times but the package handles a ridiculous amount of ever changing financial transactions and calculations and I always managed to keep my data good.

I have noted a marked improvement since they got away from Intuit. There was a kind of a big mess last year that took a while to resolve when Schwab changed how they did their transaction download security and it took them a bit to catch up.

I believe the versions that expired every two years were somewhere around $69 if you paid straight retail and it may be the case that the price has dropped very significantly when accounting for inflation, if I remember right.

Yes it is buggy sometime but I am absolutely amazed when I realize I can go back and look at what I was saving and spending when I was married near forty years ago. What do you think forty years of paying an accountant to keep my personal and business books would cost?

Some just like to kill or curse the goose that lays the golden egg if the egg takes any work to get.

To all those that are considering getting software to manage your finances, just do it. It is a life changing thing and can make your future bright versus one of poverty. Until I started actually tracking my income, expenses and investments I had little money or savings as it all just seemed to disappear. Getting a picture of what you are doing will have you thinking very differently.

You got that backward and wrong a bit. You can add a new code if you are within 6 months of expiring that does not equal what you state

I'm still using Quicken 2016 in offline mode but it take some effort (bunch of patch) to run in Win11.

So, will this import 2016 database and since I'm used to use it in Offline mode now, will this still function after the 1 year activation?

This is $36 direct from quicken's site. Is there a difference between this product and the one on quicken's site?

Unless I'm mistaken, there's no more offline in the recent version. Every time I started, it went online looking for update, I believe without internet it simply won't start.

You are mistaken and 100% wrong. Why so ready to share gossip, rumor and misinformation without checking? We are here to share information about deals, not make crap up about something so easily checked.

I see no way to purchase a retail copy at Quicken. I see you can sign up to be billed at $2.99 month but no way to buy a years subscription. Am I missing something?
