1-star reviews @ Target & Walmart cause me to lose interest, although, admittedly, there are many, many more good reviews (seems reg. price $99.).

I got the windowed 8 Quart Gourmia from Costco. It says on the box and elsewhere that the non stick surfaces are free of PFOE, PTFE and BHA. I can't find this assurance on this model. If it is only the drip pan with the coating, maybe one could find a non coated stainless steel tray to put down there?

Funny reading these negative comments. I have the Gourmia 8 Qrt from Costco that so many people like. The Costco fryer has coatings everywhere. This one seems to only have the drip tray coated. The Max temp is 400F. From what I understand, that is well below the danger zone for non stick coatings. The Costco fryer also has a second clear pane on the outside that is a plastic. My guess is that this insulates. People think the inner pane is plastic? Really? It looks like glass to me. The Costco design is a basket, so this double pane will encounter water when cleaning and some water can get in between the panes. This Walmart unit's design has the removable baskets, so only these and the drip tray need to be washed in a sink or dishwasher.

I wasn't expecting Breville quality when the unit's normal price is only $100. I'll say this, for $10 more than the Costco fryer, this seems the better deal. I like it so far and Walmart has 90 day returns if it disappoints before then.

In for 1 just in case. I've already got the Instant Pot Vortex Plus 4QT Air Fryer on its way to me. Does anybody know how the two compare?

This is not a regular Gourmet Air Fryer. It is for Black Friday sales only. It even printed outside the box. That is why it felt so cheap. Normally when you open air fryer door, you don't need to hold its body but not this one. Its weight is so light so you need to hold the body to open it. I returned it on day one I got. The Gourmet one at Costco is much better.

Can you confirm the viewing window is plastic? That seems nuts!
It's double layered. The interior one is glass and the outside one is plastic

I bought this last week. The baskets are stainless, the wire mesh is welded to the rim of the baskets and then machined down (also confirmed with a quick google search). We still use airfryer liner sheets as these stainless trays are a PITA to clean if you get lots of burned carbon build up on them since they don't have any nonstick coating on them. The drip pan has a nonstick coating but you can replace it with with a silicone or stainless tray. The viewing window is double-paned with glass inside and plastic outside. This is an upgrade for me going from a Faberware airfryer with nonstick trays.

I almost bit on this one. But the bad reviews scared me off.
Instead, I got this Chefman one from Amazon Resale in used - like new - condition for $2.09 more (with the 20% off BF/CM discount.) it's 10 qt vs this one's 14 qt size, but I don't need one that big anyways, and the smaller one will give me more room on the countertop, while giving me enough space to cook almost anything I'll ever use it for.

Walmart also has this one for the same price Gourmia 6-Slice Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer, with 18 One-Touch Presets & Temp Probe, Stainless Steel - Walmart.com . I have the slightly larger model of this one. I really like it because it takes a 12" pizza which can be cooked on the rack. I've had it about a year and it works great. If you don't like the way the door seals, look up wood stove adhesive gasket on Amazon.

It's magnetized and attached at the bottom of the left side.

Thank you! For some reason I didn't bother taking the tape off that area but yes it's there.

We just bought this and after running the initial burn off, it threw an error code which the troubleshooting has you contact customer support. Currently dealing with that
That error code means, "Protective plastic coating no longer detected, contact customer service."

There's also the loads of acrylamide created every time you air fry anything with starchy, like breaded filets or taquitos.
