yes and yes. it doesn't come with motorization parts though and I don't know if it has instructions showing how to do it so it may not be as easy as some other trains but it can definitely be done

Amazing deal. I have this set and I motorized it. Had to get a few more parts but it's totally worth it. I wish they gave the option out of the box but is what it is. Highly recommended at this price (will definitely sell out)
