I highly recommend getting one at this price! We've been using this for about a year now after getting a deal from Technivorm. I finally decided to upgrade from $20 coffee makers and the "free" Gevalia machines after the Ninja brew unit (slickdeal) we had died after 2 years. This unit makes excellent coffee, but it's also able to be repaired and parts are readily available. It brews at a perfect temperature and the hot water sprays the grounds so well which makes the brew richer than standard coffee makers. We actually use a bit less ground coffee than we had before because the brew is so efficient. If you value quality and you want better coffee, this unit is a worthwhile investment, especially at this price.
I have this, it's really nice looking but honestly, I cannot tell any difference between it and a 20 dollar coffee maker. The timer switch turns off too fast now. Makes coffee fast though!
Buy this 100 percent.

Works with wyze plug etc.

Get a good burr grinder. Buy whole beans and grind fresh.

Use a kitchen scale and figure out what mix works best for you. It's simple to get dialed in. X cups of water with however many grams of ground coffee.

Turn on, but do not insert carafe. Let brew for a bit and stir the beans with a spoon.

Then slide coffee pot in and it will start to fill.

This sounds like a hassle, but it's super easy and after you get a routine down its faster and better than other machines.

By far way better coffee then a press or other machines. Water comes out boiling hot and stays hot compared to using press. Pour over is good, but I function on many cups of coffee a day and this is pour over quality in an easier to use brew.

Use good filters. Rinse filter before using.

Is this going to have a noticeable improvement in drip taste over a SCA certified ninja drip brewer?

I wondering the same vs my budget OXO SCA certified brewer.

Im guessing you drink dark roasted coffee. Its all going to taste the same when you can only taste the roast and not the beans.

edit: not that its a bad flavor but it's night and day for lighter medium and light roasts between this and a 20 dollar drip.

But is the coffee hot? The Breville I paid quite a bit for I have to warm the water prior to brewing if I'm only doing a cup or 2.

I'm tempted to get this because the carafe for the oxo is terrible. It also sometimes gets clogged and as a result just overflows. Really hate it. It's also impossible to get the last drops of coffee out of it.

I had the OXO 12-cup and upgraded to this. The biggest advantage is that all the parts that touch coffee can be put through the dishwasher, which is a massive improvement IMO.
I think this one is better overall as far as brewing, but I'm not sure it is worth an upgrade

Respectfully, you may want to look at the coffee you're choosing or the grinder you're using. Good luck!

SCA Rated means it brews consistently at 200 degrees, so yes the coffee is hot!

yes, but only if you use higher end beans. typical heavy roasted will all taste about the same as drip. its just like doing pourover for supermarket french roast. more effort for the same result.

wtf.. i paid much more for ours.

warning.. dont waste high tier beans on it.. something nice and medium fine.. but it does NOT come close to properly controlled pourover or aeropress.. love it though.. especially with a smart plug with morning scheduling
