Many reviews on Amazon saying the drive fails to be recognized or just fail altogether within a few months. I'd be cautious
3 Newegg reviews on the 1TB versions and all of them say it dies after a few months. 1.5 eggs.

Any thoughts on the quality of the controller and other hardware aspects of this SSD?

I'm tempted by the 4TB - seems like a good price for a drive that includes DRAM?

I was thinking about grabbing the 2tb version. Most of the reviews seem pretty solid. This drive was about $10 less last year when SSDs were cheaper. At $200 for 4tb, that seems like a good deal. I'd either get this or the 990 pro 4tb for $243.

The discussion of that Corsair mentions there is a problem with its Phison controller. The discussion mentions that another drive (Kingston) uses the same controller and put out a firmware update to address the issue, but Corsair hasn't.

I wonder what kind of controllers are in the 4TB HP drives?

Hmm, whether to wait for black friday, or get this 4TB HP for $200, the Samsung for $250 or there is the 4TB Western Digital black around $250. hmmm when I'm undecided like this, it's usually best to just wait and see...

Of course, but this is all part of the ritual of convincing. It's a process to ensure one readies oneself to bite bullets.

I usually just buy and return it if I find a better deal. It's Amazon.

Agree. Better to get and return, then never to get at all.

Although I would give it two weeks after BF. Sometimes stuff isn't moving according to projections and they drop it further rather than wait for the final dump and clear in Q1 or Q2
