It's great size for a small cook and I don't think you will ever regret it. Not sure if the $194 deal (Walmart) will come around again soon.

I see the Classic Joe 1 comes around $480 often (I think $300 YMMV deal was the lowest). I recall $350 at BJs once.

I bought a classic for the $480 in the summer and it gets monthly usage, so that's pretty dang good for my house. I feel if I didn't already have a gas grill I'd buy this, throw it on a table, and use it for the more "quick" cooks (burgers, breasts) that the gas grill does. I understand now how these things work and it's...great

Only con: lump charcoal can be garbage as you need big pieces but some bags only give you smalls

No you don't. The paint flakes off and it's nothing special? Ditto the classic 2/3 latches, nothing but annoying.

Same price at Home Depot. If you have military/veteran on your account for 10% off you can get it for $269.10 pre-tax. I'm still bummed about missing the $99 Lowe's Outlet deal though.

Agreed with this comment. I actually got rid of the Big Joe 3 vent, replaced with a smokeware. I really dislike kamado joes vents on the classic 3 and bj3. Kept the stock joe jr vent, love it. I use both grills every week.

Have this for at least 3 years now. I have a large BGE for most smokes, but this is great for steaks, chicken, etc. I have used it for smoking meatloafs and veggies, but works great for a family of 3. When our power went out for 3 days, this was used exclusively to cook every meal from cinnamon rolls, sausage, whole chicken and frozen veggies.

I don't like the daisywheel vent and wish it had the spark screen on the bottom air vent like the BGE. I find the Smokeware cap to be too big and even with the silicon ring you can get to fill the gap, it is loose and makes it difficult to open/close if you have to adjust mid cook. I bought a stand/nest for it that I can move around on our deck and no longer use the included stand. Even have a grill cover that is made for it that I found on Amazon.

All in all, I really like this thing and works great for our house. Minor annoyances for the other things.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have had this for about 3 years. It's a beast. Don't let the small size fool you. I have put two racks of ribs on it (coiled up like a cinnamon roll), a whole turkey, and a brisket flat....in addition to the usual suspects. All the benefits of a quality ceramic cooker, but in a small size. To bring it up off the ground a bit making it a bit easier to use, I have it sat on this aluminum water heater stand (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KKU8UC). I added this stainless steel grate to replace the OEM version....it really helps improve the overall airflow (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FYDWR6S). Then I put it all on this moving cart (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZW9P6BW). Great set up....mobile and functional at a great price.

I think the deal on the grilla grills Kong is better. 24" beast for $636, if you aren't looking for the small sized form factor.
