Hmm, interested in the S24+ but this deal doesn't seem too much saving vs. Fi

WM price (AT&T): $23.59 x 36 = $850 + tax (10% for easy math) = $935 - $400GC = $535 + time/headaches of cancellation to get activation fees credited + sim swap to immediately unlock.

Fi price: $400 + 10% tax = $440 +$100ish for 120 days service = $540. Unlocked right out of the box.

Care to elaborate?
Until we have the full details, typically with Verizon it is a device payment plan (not bill credits). So you can pay off the device immediately, and the discounted price is what you're paying on. For example: retail - 1000 trade in = 400 or so, you'll be paying 400/36 months, or 11/mo. And with Walmart you only pay taxes on the 400, so about 36 in CA. You get the 500 GC. Then you payoff the device in store before 3 days, cancel the line, demand to get the activation fee waived (must be cash only, most Verizon stores don't even know this until they try your card and waste your time).

To clarify if you cancel you can't trade in right? Since that's only credits?

Are you sure of this? I thought almost everybody only does bill credits now (to take the place of the contracts they can no longer do), and the website pretty clearly shows all of their free phones are handled with 36 months of bill credits.

Walmart still does this for Verizon, they just did it with the iPhone 14 for 299 deal a week ago. I picked up 2 of those and paid them off immediately, canceled the lines, got the activation fee waived. Not every Walmart deal is a device payment plan, it is quite rare, just to clarify.

Another option, switch to T-mobile which offers up to $650 per line, for up to two lines, via virtual prepaid Mastercard.

Fine print on the Spectrum deal: you must have paid for you device (per line) for at least 3 months to be eligible. Another caveat, it's a PITA to port out of spectrum when you need to.

TMobile won't look for how many months you paid for another career? You can purchase from ATT or Verizon with WM promotion and switch to TMobile after few days or one bill payment?

T-mobile deals are drying up. Sigh.
I have Verizon but have been desperately searching for my mom a deal as she has T-Mobile. I've really felt this comment. She has an iPhone 11 and wants the 16 cause hers won't ring. They wanna give you a bag of peanuts for the iPhone 11.😂
