Can confirm this is 100% true. I just learned this personally this past week. I purchased one of the iPhone 14 256gb for $299 from Walmart a couple weeks ago. I never opened the box, and I paid off the phone and cancelled the line on the very same day I purchased it online.

I couple days ago I went to sickw and typed in the IMEI and it said

Brand: Apple
Model: iPhone 14 (A2649)
Model Name: iPhone 14
Model Region: United States
SIM Card: Dual eSIM only
Activation Status: Not Activated
Telephone Technical Support: N/A
Valid Purchase Date: No
Registered Device: No
Replaced by Apple: No
Loaner Device: No

Purchase Country: United States
Estimated Purchase Date: 24 Nov 2022
Demo Unit: No
**Carrier: US Reseller Flex Policy Next Tether Policy: 4000**
Country: United States
Sim-Lock: Locked
Find My iPhone: OFF

I have heard of this resell flex policy before in relation to doing the swim swapping trick with H2O SIM cards and at&t. It was a way to unlock the
Phone immediately.

But I'm a little confused on a couple things, the IMEi check also said that the iPhone has never been activated before ( so why was I charged activation fee)? Also it says that it is locked, but after reading up on the flex policy it seems like basically you can pick whatever carrier you use the device on, however whatever service or carrier you do end up getting first is the service that the iPhone will be locked to.

Which leads me to my main question, because the iPhone 14 is obviously dual eSIM there is no sim swapping. How do I go about getting this device to be unlocked in the simplest fashion ( preferably leaving the box sealed) from the current resell flex policy status it's in.
I wonder if this would work if you were to switch the device for a Straight Talk plan over to this iPhone 14. Straight Talk has a 60 day unlocking policy and you don't even need to open or turn on the phone that you get with the plan. This probably isn't that good of an option if you don't already have ST plan but a bunch of us do from the recent ST iPhone 13 deal.

Agreed, that's definitely a risk. Though someone posted in the iPhone 14 deal that T-Mobile was able to Unlock the Verizon iPhone.
In my case, it was a gift for my daughters birthday, I didn't want to give her a phone that she couldn't use for 60 days. So rolled the dice, plan to ask T-Mobile to unlock after a couple of months.

By the way, I had the same thoughts as you when I decided to skip Verizon activation, this is my post on the iPhone 14 deal
If I follow this would I be able to activate the phone on a existing plan with total wireless? Also, since Verizon owns total wireless, would they unlock the phone after 60 days?

I'd like to know this too. Currently have TW and would be great to be able to gift this phone and use it right away on TW without waiting the 60 days. And if TW would unlock after 60 days that would icing on the cake.

Few questions:
1.) I am with Boost Can I get AT&T iphone 15 pro max deal with $500 GC and not looking for trade in?
2.) How many days will it take to get the GC?
3.) Once I get the GC Can I pay off and once unlocked can I Move back to any other career?
4.) Is there any commitment like 30/60/120 days before I transfer without tradein?

Certain options seem to be available until I select them, and then they are Out Of Stock. I think it's all sold out.

I want to upgrade from 12 Pro...should I go with the 15 Pro or 16 regular? No gaming involved, just daily use and take pictures.

The phones will show in stock for Walmart + customers only. The rest of use have to wait until it goes "live" for us.

Edit, looks like it is live at 5pm, eastern time.

I placed an order for 15PM and its an upgrade from an existing line with ATT and made the payment with walmart gift card. My order was cancelled after 3 hours. Did it happen to anyone else ?
Same thing happened to me. Call customer service. They have to escalate the issue to another department. I'm going to try and order again in a little bit.
