In checking the At&t trade in site, it looks like Iphone 13 Pro trade is only worth $830 and not the $1000 with purchase of Iphone 16 Pro. It's giving value of $225 which is less than $230 for $1000. Walmart page shows $1000 for Iphone 13 Pro. Is that right?

From Att site
  • To qualify for $1000 credit off iPhone 16 Pro & 16 Pro Max models, minimum Trade-In value must be $230 or above.
  • Eligible devices:
    • Apple iPhone: 13 Pro Max, 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
    • Samsung Galaxy: S23+, S23 Ultra, Z Fold 4, Z Flip5, Z Fold5, S24, S24+, S24 Ultra
    • Google: Pixel 8 Pro
    • Other: Moto razr Plus 5G
  • To qualify for $830 credit, minimum Trade-In value must be $130 or above.
  • Eligible devices:
    • Apple iPhone: 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max

Phone will lock to Verizon only when you turn on the iPhone with Verizon service active. In my case, I will cancel Verizon service before turning on the iPhone.

This is what I did for a previous iPhone 14 Walmart deal. See the detail steps here
Hmmm interesting. So if we do that, can phone even work for visible?

Also, did T-Mobile unlock your phone ? If yes, when

So I asked total wireless about this. They said they would have no way of unlocking the phone if it was to be activated by total wireless since it's a Verizon phone, even if they are owned by Verizon.

It should. Though getting it unlocked later by Visible (if you decide to change carriers) could be more difficult than a major carrier like T-Mobile.

Yes, if unlocking is important to you, best bet would be to activate first on Verizon

How do you get the trade in option please? I don't see it at all for upgrade or new line for an existing ATT customer.
Same. Did you figure out?

I haven't asked them yet (been only a week). Their usual unlock policy is 40 days.
Note: There is a chance T-Mobile might refuse to unlock the device, they might say this is a Verizon device.

I am getting the same error, did you figure out the fix?
Not yet. I've reached out to both AT&T and Walmart. AT&T didn't see an issue on their end, and Walmart wasn't that helpful, but said they would escalate this with their tech team and reach out within 48 hours. I didn't get an email confirmation or anything, so I hope I really do hear back from them.

Can someone clarify please?? If I do the trade in and get $1000 trade in credit and cancel the line before 36 months, do I need to pay the $1000 outstanding payment in order for the device to be eligible for unlock?

Looking a bit online it appears AT&T is similar to Verizon in that if you buy a phone at Walmart (to get the gift card), then immediately go to AT&T to pay off the phone, then cancel the line/account (within 3 days), you will just pay a prorated fee for the 2-3 days of service plus taxes (however long the phone was in service). Which seems to be about $10ish bucks.

Can anyone with experience confirm if this is correct or if I'm missing something?

Just trying to get the gift card, no trade in stuff or bill credits.
