Tell the robo attendant "pay off device"
Robo attendant will confirm the payoff amount and if you would like to process on credit card ending in xxxx (what you have on file)
* Say yes, and that's it.
Having said that, see the screenshots attached to this Link. This person was able to unlock the Verizon iPhone through T-Mobile. My opinion - with major carries (T-Mobile or AT&T), we should be able to get them to unlock. But I wouldn't risk it with MVNO's.
