Having said that, see the screenshots attached to this Link. This person was able to unlock the Verizon iPhone through T-Mobile. My opinion - with major carries (T-Mobile or AT&T), we should be able to get them to unlock. But I wouldn't risk it with MVNO's.
Edit: sickw shows carrier locked Verizon. So 60 days waiting it is.
