I tried to unlock with a VZ chat rep but was told no, I have to wait 60 days (this was after they brought in level 2 support). The only way that I've seen to get it unlocked is to pay off the phone in cash or with a chip credit card at a special Corporate Verizon store (not just any local Verizon store), so that they can be assured that you won't reverse the charges on them afterwards. Or be in the military and about to be deployed overseas.

Mine shows sim locked (2387 Verizon locked policy), before and after cancelling.

Make sure that the non-verizon phone you're calling from is also a non-verizon-MVNO phone (no cell provider that uses the Verizon network).

It's a signature required delivery, someone has to be there to sign for it and tell the delivery man their name.

Probably no luck there because Visible is owned by Verizon. Maybe the only carrier that would work with a Verizon locked phone is US Mobile using their Warp (Verizon) service. US Mobile lines are some of the cheapest prepaid lines.

That's very fortunate, I wish that my chat rep had been that helpful. You bought an iPhone 15 pro max and it was automatically unlocked after you paid off the device? Or before you paid it off?

Maybe what happened is the Estimated Purchase Date (look up your phone's serial number on sickw to see it) was actually more than 60 days ago, rather than a couple days ago, for some mystery reason, so the 60 day unlock period had already passed. This may seem mysterious because the Estimated Purchase Date should be the date when you, the actual customer, bought it, but I noticed that one of my 2 iPhone 16 Pro Maxes had an estimated purchase date of November 15th, not November 25th, when I bought it, or November 27th, when I activated it, and was listed as 2387 Verizon locked before it was delivered to me. Whereas the other phone had an estimated purchase date of November 27th, when I activated it. I surmise that some of the phones are getting pre-locked to Verizon early and then sitting on a shelf in some inventory somewhere, with the 60 day unlock period already ticking down. What does sickw say your unlocked phone's estimated purchase date is?
Mine is showing no sim restriction from beginning when they activated it in store until now. That why i was surprised, i just double checked with the cs rep what i see is true or not. Anyway, my phone activation date is today in store. So it may have missed something during activation or verizon did me a favor 😃. Hope i dont get into some mess in future

Even more confusing. I am trading in a iPhone 13 Pro for which I should be getting $1000 but will see what I end up getting. I plan to go to at&t store to trade in the phone.
Can you please share what ends up happening with your trade in?

I am on same boat with a 13pro and confused if we'll get the $1000 trade in credit. I don't think we will but because AT&T doesn't list the 13pro as being eligible for the 1000 trade in promo

There are several discount deals on iphone, walmart, ST etc etc under which we have to stash the phone away for 60 days for it to unlock to gift somebody or flip it on craigs/ebay etc, what is the best way to keep battery in a healthy condition, do we need to charge it every so often or let it fully drain? these phone are not going to be used for 2 months.

I would probably just fully charge it, then shut it off. Turn it back on in a month and check battery, recharge, shut back off.

charge to 60% then power it off. In 2 months, it probably will lose 5-10% max.

Curious why not charge 100%

Later on Found this :

To best store an iPhone for a couple of months, charge it to around 50% battery, turn it off completely, and place it in a cool, dry, and moisture-free environment; ideally, somewhere with a temperature below 90°F (32°C).
Key points to remember:
Battery level:
Always charge your iPhone to around 50% before storing it, as leaving it fully charged or completely drained can negatively impact battery health.

Yeah that's exactly why. I prefer a little higher than 50% because if I forgot to check for a year, it would probably have some juice left, thus avoiding damage for being completely drained.

Keep us updated!!
Confirmed.
I had my phone in T-mobile ONE plan upgraded to Iphone 15 pro max with 24 month split payment (1099/24 = 45.80 per month), without affecting my ONE plan and still qualify for the 500 GC promo. The thing is it took like an hour to receive the GC, not like 10 min for most of you guys.
It turned out:
  1. No activation fee
  2. Original plan not affected
  3. Paid tax on full amount (66 bucks in my case)
  4. I can pay off the full amount anytime I like.
  5. No need to worry about canceling line or waiting 60 days for unlock since my new phone is now T-mobile locked and I have no plan to leave T-mobile.

Did anyone get denied during their application process?

Both my wife and I did this last year in store, 1 phone per person per SSN through Verizon

This year, I tried to get another phone through VZ in store but my application was denied.

I asked my wife to get it in store through ATT but her application was also denied. She never had ATT service before.

I wonder if my address/ssn is blocked. We both have excellent credit

What should be my next step? Create a new Walmart account and order online?

Is it store dependent? I cannot find any information on walmart website regarding gift card for t-mobile purchase.

I believe it is B&M only promo. You cannot see it from website. Not sure if you can see it in the black friday flyer though.

Mine shows sim locked, obviously locked to verizon since I turned it on to activate before disconnecting the line. You are lucky to get unlocked phone right away.
