Is anyone getting below error while trying to raise unlock request through AT&T?
I was able to complete steps till eSIM swap correctly. But getting below error while putting request to unlock.
"We can't unlock your device. Service for this device was canceled within the 14-day return policy period."
Any previous experience if device will get unlocked automatically after 60 days or service has to be active for that?
Thanks for responses!
Did you cancel service before requesting unlock?

Att is charging around $111.67 for canceled line and for two days usage. Is someone else facing the same issue and reached out to customer service to resolve it? Or it will update on its own?

I think it's YMMV based on the delivery company. Lasership dropped it on my doorstep. I think Walmart expects a person with the same last name to sign for it at your address, but again, it's up to the delivery company to actually do it.
No, any shipping company or company own carrirer (WM, Staples,...) only need any adult to sign for it.

you shoudn't need to wait 60 days if you try the esim swap trick. Did you follow these steps?

Unlocking Process: (to be performed AFTER you 1. transfer the eSIM out and make a couple calls to get the ATT system to recognize the phone number is associated with a different phone 2. Paid off the phone.).

Go to https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/unlockstep1 and say NO to if you have an ATT number, which then allows you to put in the IMEI. and check the box for eligibility, click next.
Enter information of someone who is not the holder of the account including their email address. (family member so you can get to the email quickly)
ATT will email the address you entered above a confirmation email to verify if you are indeed asking for an unlock. Click on the link in the email.
5 minutes later, email came with Approved message (at least for me), with instructions on how to proceed (you can use another eSim at this point, I verified with an IMEI checker and it said UNLOCKED)

Not sure why you are getting this message "Service for this device was canceled within the 14-day return policy period" Your service is obviously active

... the 2nd device....

which still hasn't actually shipped yet. Walmart committed to a delivery by Dec 8th (Sunday!) and I ordered on BF. I still have not received an email from Vz about the line activating, so I think the 3 day timer starts then.
Just to add a data point to the thread, after placing, receiving and canceling VZ service on order #1, I placed order #2 under the same Walmart account, but used a different email address and "home phone number" for the Vz portion (since I couldn't use my existing account since it had been canceled, and I couldn't "verify" the account since I didn't actually have that line active for Vz MFA through Walmart). That order was placed on BF, 11/29, with an estimated delivery date of Sunday, 12/8.

Just this morning I received an email notification indicating my "2nd" Vz account had been updated, so I checked the Walmart app and see that order #2 has a Lasership tracking number and is being shipped from Chino, CA. Current state is "label created" as of last night, so I hope to receive it by Saturday.

I was really stressing about them actually shipping order #2 since I thought Vz might kick back a 2nd account with the same SSN, but different email address and a pending final bill. I just needed some digital patience.

Online orders will receive GCs within 25 days. Only in-store orders received GCs immediately.

Does anyone getting the following message when doing the ATT upgrade from Walmart website.
You need to complete your upgrade at a Walmart store. Please visit the nearest Walmart store with a Walmart Mobile Desk and we'll help you upgrade your device.
I had to change the billing address on the ATT account because Walmart can only ship to the billing address on the ATT account. I searched a bit and it is due to ATT's way of securing the account and stop any third party(here it is Walmart) orders for certain period of time. ATT's chat was useless but I will try again. So does anyone know how long will it take ATT to clear this issue or how to proceed ?
I did go to my Walmart and they ran out of the 16 pro max I am interested in.

I don't think it matters. Some key points I noticed

1. Make some calls and texts before and after the eSIM swap. Make sure both new and old phones register in ATT

2. You may need to wait 24 - 48 hours after paying off your new phone before unlocking. ATT needs some time to recognize the phone is paid off

3. Make sure the swapping phone is fully unlocked

4. Cancel your service only after your phone is unlocked. (If you cancel before unlocking, I am not sure it will unlock automatically after 60 days. ATT has a 60 days unlock policy. ).

Instructions from last year

*** Instant unlock using SIM Swap for ATT (YMMV) ***
After getting the phone and paying it off fully, make some calls/texts and make sure it shows up on ATT account
Transfer the eSIM to an unlocked, steps might vary depending on iPhone/android.
Make some calls with that phone and make sure it shows up on the account now.
Now go to ATT.com/device unlock and select non ATT customer and provide imei.
Make sure you reply yes to the confirmation email ATT sends
Only cancel the account after you are able to unlock.
