Used edge with ms shopping which was 15% back last time. Bought 2 and showing $30 back pending on both transactions. It's 12% now and seems the best deal available.
I had chase offers on both freedom unlimited and CSR for 25% back capped at $15. Those both qualified so $45 cb plus standard cb from credit cards combined. I see the chase offers are back on both of those cards for me now; almost tempted to try and buy 2 more.
Received both phones, they will come with SIM card and instructions taped to back of iPhone box. Follow instructions which include going to straight talk activation website and inserting the sim. The silver, or whichever plan you choose, is tied to the sim and you will see a message to that effect when completing activation on the website. Once activated, text UNLOCK to 611611 twice and you will receive a response that lists the unlock date. You only have to pay 1 month of service and the device will unlock 60 days post activation.

My phone is active and I was able to send a text to 611611 . Received the unlock date of Feb 5th 2025.. However my line is not showing active on my dashboard.
Manage Lines -> Add a line -> Add an active line. Then enter the phone number or IMEI, and you will see it as active line.
After that, you can enroll to straighttalk rewards, using a good referral code will earn you a lot of bonus rewards points enough for one month of free service.
Customer service is saying I have to have a plan active.
They don't have anything less than $35 a month

"We apologize. We cannot process your transaction at this time. Please try again later or call us at 1-877-430-2355."
I have an unlock date of 2-1-2025 but some carriers require verification that you want to leave them for someone else. Hopefully this 'no lines' in Straight Talk problem doesn't result in not being able to unlock because I cannot approve the transfer
edit: my number still works as I just called my other line. I wonder what's going on with ST.
Using the 611611 service, when I type in HELP, there's an option for acct email help. When I choose that, then 'forget email address' I get taken to a Straight Talk link and when I type in my IMEI number it comes back with "esn not active. you should activate the device first'.
So somehow I was able to get a phone number, and 1 month's service with ST but whatever system ST uses for account management doesn't think I even set up the phone.
I wouldn't be worried if I knew in a month I can just set this phone up with a new provider. Anyone know if ST has to release the phone from service before I can transition it to another company? (US Mobile for example).

No, ST doesn't need to "release it" from service in order to use it with an unrelated carrier like USM … the phone just needs to be unlocked, which usually happens automatically even with lapsed service.
