A benefit on this modem for Xfinity is it is one of the cheaper ones that will be able to get NextGen/midsplit speeds (in areas this is rolled out), which effectively means more upload. Here is a list of all the current ones: https://assets.xfinity.com/assets...evices.pdf
I got the lower Hitron CODA (not CODA56) model earlier this year and my plan went from 200/5 to 300/100 with no price change. I just tested and I'm getting 329/112 on my phone over wifi AC.

The difference on the lower model is it only supports up to 1000 down/350 up on the internet connection and it only has a Gigabit ethernet port. (CODA56 2500 down/700 up and 2.5Gb ethernet port).

So if you are not planning to get, or don't have available in your area, plans higher than 1 Gigabit, then there's no point in getting the CODA56 over the CODA.

However, the regular CODA model seems to be sold out/not listed on Amazon right now, except for the Renewed listing at $89. (I got my CODA for $80 new earlier this year). https://www.amazon.com/Hitron-Cer...0CVCDL3HV/

Renewed CODA56 is $109:

Does xfinity have a map showing where they have rolled out NextGen speed?

Not sure if Xfinity does, but if you check the FCC's broadband map for your address and see 2000/200 for Xfinity, you should have it: https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov

Thanks. Anything else? Or are they basically similar otherwise?

No, but you can simply check your address on the Xfinity site in an incognito browser, select "I will move here as new customer" and then check the available internet packages. If you see the 2Gbps plan available, your area was upgraded and supports midsplit upload speeds.

This is only a modem. You will still need a wifi router connected to the modem to connect multiple devices.

Check the posts above on how to find out if your area was upgraded and supports midsplit with higher upload speeds.

My area does support 2000/200 but my current service is 1000/20 with Motorola s33.
Will this modem increase the upload without changing to higher tier service?

Thanks
