Be aware of the WWE games from 2K. They shut down the servers just after 2 years from release, so if you buy now you'll only have a little over a year to enjoy this title. Without the backend server support this game is pretty much worthless unless you only want to play the scripted MyRise mode. They will push you to the 2025 game and $100 price tag to play the live service features.

Can I do local matches vs CPU? Pretty much trying to put the game engine through its paces and geek out on dream matches.

It's true. It's practically a subscription disguised as ownership, which doesn't truly exist. The best approach is to buy it if you're playing in the moment. Don't plan on long-term ownership. We'll ultimately need to accept ongoing subscription fees. Also, it is loaded on DLC so this is the price to pay for some things. One should buy the "Forty Years..."
