Would someone mind checking my math and telling me if they think this deal is worth it given my situation?
Have a Pixel 7, trade in value via T Mobile is $110
Want the P9P, value is $1000 at T Mobile
I'm currently with Mint Mobile and plan is ending soon, great time to switch.
If I port in my current number at T Mobile and select the Go5G Plus plan ($90/mo)
Then I get the phone "for free" and have to stick with T Mobile for 2 years paying $90/mo to stay on the Go5G Plus plan.
OR
I could do the Google Store deal with that 30% coupon, get an unlocked P9P and continue using the much cheaper Mint Mobile for $30/mo for unlimited, although I think that wouldn't be the 256GB model if going through Google Store.

Why would you want to pay $90 for 2 years? Just get it from Google store.

Awesome deal. Where are you located that there is a T-Mobile kiosk in store. All the Costco's around me have switched to AT&t and it's terrible.
Ah, sorry. I'm in Utah.

I just got off the call with Costco and was not able to get the deal as it appears as a web exclusive offer on their end (even had them reference Smartphone Trade ID240577 - Promo Code: P943). They could only offer me $100 Costco Cash card and the trade-in value on my phone 🙁
I was told the same regarding the web exclusive offer, and directed me to do it through tmobile.

T-mobile changed their policy this summer, and now if you pay off early, your credits stop too. This is for EIPs starting 7/1/24 or later. Source: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...nd-rebates (scroll down to "How Recurring Device Credits (RDC) work", and it's in the 2nd bullet).
Thanks for sharing that, I was going to buy the phone and pay it off early to resell it and continue receive credit to my account. So this new rule basically blocks that, this deal now only make sense for those who are going to keep the phone themself for 2 years. Anyone else have a way to make profit out of this deal?

Not me. Tax on full amount + 35. I did just get Tmo chat to credit 35 so I'm good now.
Same, I was just able to get chat to refund me the $35. Another $100 GC would have been nice, but I am not remotely in the mood to go to Costco and deal with that at the moment.

Interesting. Not sure how my phone agent was able to see it. Could be plan specific? We have the Essentials 4 line offer plan.

You don't necessarily have to keep it yourself for 2 years. Two other options:
1. Sell it anyway, as T-mobile locked
2. Use it as a trade-in to another promotion where the network lock doesn't matter

Note, I haven't tried either of these yet myself, but I'm pretty sure neither one of these would stop the credits.

Deng should have held out instead of buying at launch ='(

Is there still any way to take advantage of this promo if upgraded and traded in my device in September?

Good point, sell it as T-Mobile locked might be the best way to go, it would probably just reduce the resell value a bit. Also since I don't need to unlock it, I can keep the phone sealed in the box without even activate it.The EIP credit is tie to the line and should not be affected I think.
