Since the phone is "On Us with trade" Via 24 monthly bill credits, then the phone won't be paid off until 2 years later (after 24 monthly bill credits). Meaning you can't Unlock the phone until 2 years from the time the phone has been active on the T-Mobile network on the requesting line.

- Select the line you wish to unlock, then choose Check device unlock status.
- Under the device image, check if your device is eligible to be unlocked. Review Device Unlock Policy for a list of eligibility requirements

That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.

Earlier today I tried Tmobile in-store at Costco and Sam's Club and neither worked.
