I have a Pixel 6 to trade in that I bought from T-Mobile 3 years ago, so the website already has the IMEI. I went all the way through the checkout process, everything looked good. But then I carefully read the Trade In Terms document. It said the Trade In expires on 11/23/2024 (tomorrow). If you then click on the link in that document that takes you to https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce...d-t-c.html , it says "If you fail to return your Device by the trade-in expiration date, you may be required to pay back any value or credit advanced to you." It also says "...if you sell your Device online or over the phone, we will honor the Offer Price if: (1) your Device is received by us by the Offer Price trade-in expiration date."
That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.
This deal worked on my Simple Choice plan -- via T-App, traded in S21FE, total was the $35 DCC + state tax.
You'll actually be fine with the trade in. Just placed my order and this is verbatim from my confirmation email from T-Mobile:

What's next?
Once that cool new device is in your hands, get started on these important next steps.
Trade in your old device
Once your new Pixel 9 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Google GVU6C Pixel 7 5G 128GB White - T-Mobile in good condition to retain your promotional value of $800.00.

When do we receive the promo confirmation? Did you order ship already? I just placed an order through T-Mobile Costco phone line and got order confirmation. The rep said it will take 1-2 billing cycles for promo to be applied to the account.
Ordered 11/22 and phone hasn't shipped. Promo should show up in your account page within a couple of days. Actual credit probably won't apply until they receive the trade-in.

See about 5-6 posts above yours.

I checked in with a T-Mobile store rep and they said I can bring the trade in phone in after I received the pixel 9.

Honestly if they told you that, I would just leave it alone and let it play out. As long as you don't send in the trade in phones yet you are pretty safe as Costco T-Mobile have a longer return period than T-Mobile.

Also you can go into your T-Mobile account and access check order status and click on the trade in phone. It will show you the amount of promotion you will be receiving. This is assuming it works the same on your business account.

Ah you're right. I can see the monthly credit listed in my account. Tech support here is way better than calling T-Mobile directly, haha!

What is the amount? $500 or $800?

How good is the satellite SOS capability on this phone? Does Google still provide the first two years for free? If that's the case and it's reliable, would be a much more decent option for backpacking in the wilderness (just bring a little PLB too) and stop paying Garmin for their newly greatly raised in price Inreach services.

Are there any Pixel "on us" deals for Pixel 6a owners to upgrade to?
While $400 trade in for the 6a is solid, I was hoping to upgrade with nothing or very very little out of pocket
Lmk if you find anything

Yes. I upgraded yesterday and traded in a Samsung s10e getting $800 credit. Bought the s10e on Amazon for $130
Do you get the phone IMEI right away after ordering? I've love to get on this deal but I don't know if I can buy a trade in phone today and order through T-Mobile on time. T-Mobile would require you to enter IMEI when placing the order right? Thanks so much for any info.

Others have posted that you can call them and get the IMEI changed after the fact and that as long as you're sending in the same model phone in the same condition as what you stated then you'll be fine. Personally, I wouldn't chance it. I wouldn't want to give them any excuse to decline the trade-in and negate the deal.

YMMV...

Yes don't do this, it'll give them a reason to reject it and you will be out of the return window.

It says I can do store pickup and I called my store and they have it in stock but it says to add store pickup during review but there are only shipping options once I get into the checkout process.

As long as it doesn't have water or screen damage then yes, it's eligible.
Thank you. Since it was procured by my company's corporate account 4/5 years ago, I was not sure. They never wanted it back when I upgraded to a newer phone.

The "expiration" for trade-in is 30 days after you receive your new device. It's stated in all the gobblygook that was displayed when you purchase.
