FYI : Once the phone is ordered with trade-in, the promotion should show up at your TMO Account promotions [t-mobile.com] page within a couple of days.
Limit: For those wondering if there is a maximum number of phone lines per account that can be upgraded through this promo, it seems it's 4 per account (as confirmed by T-Mobile rep).

That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.
What's next?
Once that cool new device is in your hands, get started on these important next steps.
Trade in your old device
Once your new Pixel 9 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Google GVU6C Pixel 7 5G 128GB White - T-Mobile in good condition to retain your promotional value of $800.00.

Then, Best Buy came out with that phenomenal trade in deal on Samsung phones for a week. I ended up trading in my S22 Ultra, which they accepted without a problem, for an unlocked S24 Ultra (256gb) for ($1099 less $700 trade in) $399 plus around $50 in tax = $449. No EIP, etc, great great deal.
So now I have the S24 Ultra and the Note 10 Plus as a backup.
I was ALL OVER this deal to trade in the Note 10 Plus for the Google Pixel Pro 9 XL. No hesitation at all. This will have way better trade and resale value than the Note 10 Plus a couple of years from now. Also makes for a superb main or backup phone as well.
Regarding your situation, it's kind of a tough call. Obviously, if you use the S pen a lot, you should probably look at trading in your phone directly to Samsung as you can probably do the S24 Ultra, 512 gb, for a net price, after trading in your S22 Ultra, of around $550 right now and not deal with the bill credits. You also have to be comfortable mailing in your phone to Samsung.
If you don't use the S Pen, and want or need a new phone, this is a great deal.
Personally, you should probably try to buy the cheapest used phone you could get that would qualify for this promo and then do the trade in. This way, you can use the new Google Pixel 9 Pro XL as your main phone and keep your S22 Ultra as a backup / insurance phone.
If you can get like a S9 or whatever for about $100, and use that phone as the trade in, not your S22 Ultra, that's the route I'd go.
256 is the largest T-Mobile carries.
You can take your trade in to a T-Mobile store but I think it has to be a Corp store, not 100% sure on that one. I've done 2 or 3 mail in trade ins with T-Mobile over the years and not had any problems with them. Make sure to take pictures of the all sides of the phone to prove the condition of it, a short video of the phone booting and then a pic of the IMEI is probably a good idea as well. Then make sure you package the phone well and you should be fine.
