I have a Pixel 6 to trade in that I bought from T-Mobile 3 years ago, so the website already has the IMEI. I went all the way through the checkout process, everything looked good. But then I carefully read the Trade In Terms document. It said the Trade In expires on 11/23/2024 (tomorrow). If you then click on the link in that document that takes you to https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce...d-t-c.html , it says "If you fail to return your Device by the trade-in expiration date, you may be required to pay back any value or credit advanced to you." It also says "...if you sell your Device online or over the phone, we will honor the Offer Price if: (1) your Device is received by us by the Offer Price trade-in expiration date."
That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.
This deal worked on my Simple Choice plan -- via T-App, traded in S21FE, total was the $35 DCC + state tax.
You'll actually be fine with the trade in. Just placed my order and this is verbatim from my confirmation email from T-Mobile:

What's next?
Once that cool new device is in your hands, get started on these important next steps.
Trade in your old device
Once your new Pixel 9 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Google GVU6C Pixel 7 5G 128GB White - T-Mobile in good condition to retain your promotional value of $800.00.

Regarding sending trade-in phone back to T-Mobile, do we just use the return label and the bobble envelop come with the google phone?

In the past, we can print trade-in return label from website with instruction on how to reset phone as well as IMEI info etc., which is very different than this return label.

I'm in on simple choice and traded in a S20 and got the pixel 9. Haven't activated it yet.
My wife wants a new iPhone 16, can I possibly trade in this pixel for $450 credit?
Is it possible to trade in a phone that's still locked and needing payments over 2 years?
What are my options?

You cannot trade in this pixel. Your credits will stop if you pay off the balance of the phone, which you must do before you can trade it in.

Amazing deal! It looks like Google really likes pulling people from Samsung - it accepted S10 Plus for full $800 trade-in value + $70.48 tax. I was able to trade-in the second S10 Plus for Pixel 9 XL. No $35 device activation fee in both cases.

Granted, we will still have to ship the phones, but hopefully that won't cost two much... and that there will be no other surprises.

If you're referring to shipping the phones you're trading in, there is no cost to you for that. Shipping label is included with bubble wrap. Though, I traded my devices in at a corporate store. Wanted to make sure they were taken in without issue.

I'm novice guy! Can you please explain how to go to options where we can toggle OEM unlocking? Were you able to use your phone with other service providers like AT&T?
Thank you in advance.
Enable the Developer options by tapping the Build number seven times at Settings > About phone. Carrier lock/unlock resides on the device, unlike iPhone that resides on the Apple activation servers, which is why this method works. You may have to factory reset and use adb to stop some services/processes in the background if you messed up.

Back in the day, where unlock codes were calculated based on the device IMEI, all you had to do was to find the algorithm to unlock. You could find the algorithm or toolkit on private websites for free or a small fee. Good luck.

In the bubble envelope is the instructions and a piece of striped tape. Put the phone in the bubble envelope and then in the box the pixel came in. Seal it using the piece of tape. Do not just mail it in the bubble envelope - it will be damaged. Better yet take it to a corporate t-mobile store.

This only worked trading Pixel 6 to 9 by using the T-Life App. No other option worked, web, t-Mobile App both did not work. It's just doing a normal trade in but the trade in value equaled $799.99 for my 6. I had to pay $79 because I live in Camelot and our ruler's taxes are stupid. $35 activation was waived for Black Friday Deal or something.

Beside return label and bubble envelope, is there any information about the trade-in item that need to be included in the return box? Doesn't seem like there is any paper that include in the package so not sure what else need to be include in the return to identify the order/trade-in. So the only things that help them identify it is YOU that send the trade in phone is the label on the return box? And also the IMEI of the phone that match what you put in when order?

And from search for Tmobile trade-in return, they also suggest just bring the trade-in phone to Tmobile corp store and they will check and trade-in phone and print out the receipt for you?

How many tried just go to the Tmobile store to return the trade-in phone and how easy is that?

I've returned four phones and had no issues at all. Just your time to get to the store and about 5 mins per phone. Skip the UPS option and go to a corporate store.

Still works.

I'm out of country and has not been able to access Tmobile app to upgrade but it works through TLife app. Glad I got my 2 orders through before the offer is gone.

Now, which case did you all pick?

There are 2 caseology (parallax and nano pop) but both won't ship for a while. A few cheaper options on Amazon but suspect brands.
