I'm on simple choice and I qualified. Already traded in two phones. One for a 9 pro xl and one for a regular 9. If you go to the product page and try from there it's gonna keep trying to add a line for the promo. You have to go to the number's profile and select upgrade from there.

You need to understand how devices are rated. S9 was a flagship phone when released but iPhone XR was midrange so there trade in values will differ no matter when you purchase them. iPhone x or xs will be rated higher for trade in purposes
