I worked on mainframes, pc's, server and networking hardware for 40 years. These were handy in a pinch and always in my toolkit.

There should be a new physics law: "When something falls to the floor without you seeing it, it will bounce in the least logical location".

🤣 This happens every damn time.

It sure as hell feels that way, there's no 50/50, it's 75/25 when it comes to little screws šŸ˜‚

Tbh volunteer for all the garbage projects. Take on all the tasks no one wants. eg; I work for one of the largest financial companies in the world and just upgraded to server 2022 for a work load. Daily out of about 3000 servers ~20 go into a black hole hung state. No one wants to really drive resolution with Microsoft to figure out why... You could be the guy to figure out why. People notice that. Leaders will see you as "the guy". Its an easy way to climb. Be hungry.

Thanks sigh.

I was unemployed for 1.4ish years. It was brutal. Rejections, Long follow up times, hard interviews haha.. horrible.

I got lucky. A hiring manager used to be in a similar club I used to be in... decided to let me have a go at it... I didn't get the job at first.. the first guy didn't pass negotiations.. But hey.. I'm happy now. sigh.

But def the tech field has been horrible. HORRIBLE. (for entry, and mid level folks anyways)

Okay rant over haha mb

I appreciate the kind words. I recently got employed again, been trying to learn my job and do it well. I think once im more cemented i should consider that mindset.
