Ain't that the truth! It's all 3200 mt/s cl16 or 3600mt/s CL 18. Supposedly all DD4 is going to get super cheap because of Chinese companies, but I'm not seeing it on 3600 cl16.

Yeah. 3600 mhz is optimal for 1 to 1 exchange between cpu and ram, and more so with Ryzen. Infinity fabric yaddi yadda, you know.
Tired of these, 'oh might as well dump it now' from these lame deals.

They are advertised as overclocking capable. I'm sure they'll do 3600 cl16

I have a 13700k that ive been using 16gb 2600 ddr4 on for the longest should I see a drastic benefit upgrading to ram like this? or cl16 like you said ?
I don't suggest trying to OC ram since there's a lot of factors. Most of these modules were binned correctly from factory so it's unlikely you'll be able to hit a perfect OC with no errors.
Ask me how I know

They might but manual ram overclocking is pretty difficult and should only be done if you are crazy and have a lot of extra time to learn it lol.
Get b die if you do of course. Running 3800mhz cl14 gear 1 with a 13700k atm.

What's happening that will make this happen?
It's actually possible. Major state funded companies stole a massive amount of microns design and fabrication docs, it was big news. What's unknown is when they fully ramp up in that stolen tech but for sure they can charge low prices since they didn't pay for the engineering work.

3600 cl16 to the best of my knowledge is only capable with Samsung b-die dram modules, which went out of production in 2019.
If anything they should only go up in price after half a decade of EOL.

A lot of memory can be OC'ed higher, they use extremely strict standards for binning. OC really comes down to the quality of the CPU's memory controller, and the motherboards support. That is 90% of any OC, the rest is ram modules, and speaking from past experience its not too difficult to raise speed, while dropping CL.
They bin to a high standard using normal CPU's if they only binned to silicon lottery a lot of people will be mad. Just make sure the ram is on your motherboards support list, that alone can go a long way.

Getting a stable overclock is a LOT more complex than it used to be, and yes, the motherboard's support is key; but I've used a variety of mid-tier X570 motherboards (this PC is an Aorus Elite for example), and the biggest thing I've noticed is the VAST majority of memory offerings available aren't on the motherboard's QVL. These motherboards are pretty old, and finding memory that's on the QVL takes some doing. At least that's what I've seen, looking for 2x16GB/2x32GB kits during the last year.
Over the last quarter century I've learned that it makes sense to get a lot of memory fairly quickly - too many times I've tried to add more memory to a board, but I've waited too long and the memory prices have fallen, and then risen again as it's out of production. I hadn't played with PC's too much from 2010-2019; before that time, you purchased memory with a reputable brand name, the QVL wasn't a thing.
Had a stick of this die on me over the summer after 18 months of use. I have 4x of these, still have three running, no clue why that one died, but it no longer responds in any combination across three systems.
I'd be more upset, but I knew what I was getting into. Still, can't recommend these based on longevity.

This is an overclock beyond AMD's standard specifications, with aggressive tuning of the timings. Anyone familiar with Zen 4 DDR5 overclocking can tell you this is fantastic for RAM overclocking. I can run it stable at 6400 CL30 with looser timings, but the performance does suffer. Still, it remains completely stable, allowing me to run stress tests for days without any errors. I'm not trying to show off; or gloat this is more to show my experience than anything, this is primarily due to using verified RAM in the first place.
Yes, I've overclocked it beyond the standard specs, but verified RAM can still be overclocked. Motherboard manufacturers spend considerable time to verify compatibility, but their lists are not perfect with every ram stick and variation available on the market. They release many motherboards each year, making it impossible to test every combination. With all due respect, if people opt not to use the tools available to them, I don't feel too sorry for them if they don't achieve great results. The supported RAM lists are detailed and accessible for free to those who choose to use them, and those who do will benefit from it.
